Portnagarly is our favourite place to chill out and relax. Lough Foyle views are truly amazing. Sunrise is beautiful each morning and can be enjoyed from bed in the master bedroom which has French doors out to decking.

Kitchen and sun-room also have French doors out to decking to take advantage of sun and freedom to walk around in fresh air.

The house has three bedrooms, each with en-suite facilities (shower, wc, whb). An open plan layout in downstairs shared area and a gallery over viewing the living area provides for an open and airy feeling in the house.

Accommodation downstairs includes a utility room, sun room, kitchen, living area, dining area, study, hallway and bathroom (with bath and separate shower). The master bedroom is downstairs also, with a generously sized shower room with wc and basin.

Upstairs includes two bedrooms upstairs, off from the mezzanine area, each with a window to the living area, and each with ensuite shower, wc and basin.

There is a double bed in each room, 5' wide, bed side cabinets, and chest of drawers. Master bedroom has tall wardrobe. All bedroom furniture is solid oak.

Open plan kitchen with island allows for sea view while preparing meals. Four oven Aga cooker to help you get the best from your food and provide a warm welcome.

Solid oak flooring throughout except for sun-room, utility room, kitchen and front extrance vestibule.

Open fire and underfloor heating (downstairs) make Portnagarly a cosy warm place to be. Thermostatically controlled individual zones ensure comfort throughout the day.

Two acre site with private drive and private access to beach which is only 15 metres from house.

Large decking full length of coast side of house provides private excellent outdoor relaxation /dining area. Large outdoor table and chairs available.

We have taken great care of our holiday home, and are happy to rent to careful family/mature persons who will respect and care for it.

No hen, stag, or other parties accepted or allowed. No smoking.

“Heavenly Haven”

We arrived on the 7.15 pm ferry from Magilligan on Saturday to be greeted by the very hospitable and courteous owner who was happy to accommodate our late arrival. The modern living, dining and kitchen are open plan taking full advantage of the breathtaking views from every angle, leaving us speechless for more than a few minutes (most unusual for my family). The weather was fantastic for the first three days of our stay which made living so close to the sea an amazing experience. The private little beach to the immediate front of the property was wonderful for my 3 year old granddaughter, who would have happily spent all day building sandcastles and investigating the rock pools (supervised of course). The deck area was well equipped with reclining chairs, perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun. When the weather became more unsettled later in the week the house was a comfortable, cosy haven to come back to following a day walking or touring Inishowen (the 'Famine Village' was a family favourite). In the evenings it was just so therapeutic to sit back and watch the ever changing landscape being reflected back on the house from both lough and sky. I honestly couldn't fault this very private, yet convenient holiday home in any way and would love to return to Portnagarly which in itself was (for us) the main attraction.
