Location description from owner

The Western Cape region

The Western Cape is the area most frequented in South Africa. It is very diverse in culture and offers a landscape that changes by the hour from the ocean to the winelands to the farm lands and to the desert, diverse in caves with ancient rock art. All these star studded attractions are within a very short driving distance from 1 to 3 hours. We are very blessed here in Cape Town to have both a West and East Coast that are very different in contrasts and engulfed by both the Atlantic and Indian Ocean. The climate is very Mediterranean with mild sunny winters and balmy summer temperatures with cool breezes and starry nights.

Green Point

Cape Town proudly represents the world renowned NEW 7th Wonder of the World, Table Mountain. The top of Table Mountain can be reached by cable car or by hiking up on one of the numerous trails. The views from the top of the mountain are unparallelled.
The Victoria and Alfred Waterfront is within a 10 minute safe walk. Here you can find designer shops interspersed with local craft, cinema's, the Two Oceans Aquarium, five-star hotels, live entertainment in the amphitheatre and a variety of restaurants and bars catering for every palate. It is also the gateway for ferries to Robben Island where former President Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in jail.
The new Cape Town Stadium which hosted a number of 2010 FIFA World Cup soccer games is diagonally across from The Legacy.
Cape Point is the southern-most tip of Africa and well-worth a visit.
The Bo-Kaap, home to the first Cape Malay slaves, is a 10 minute drive from the apartment and tours of the suburb gives an interesting insight into the early days of slavery in Cape Town.
Local tourism agencies provide tours to nearby game reserves offering the big 5 and shark cage diving on the East Coast.
A trip to Robben Island to visit the jail where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated during apartheid provides a chilling insight into the life of this international icon.
World class wine estates and vineyards are located within a 45 minute drive from the apartment.
Organic food and craft markets abound in the City and its suburbs.
Blue flag status beaches are also within easy reach.
Green Point and Cape Town central offer great nightlife, cafes and restaurants, all within walking distance from the apartment.
Join the many locals who take an early morning or late afternoon stroll on the Promenade, a 10 minute walk from the apartment.

“No expense spared for guest satisfaction”

Reviewed 10 Oct 2015

Done a lot of research before making a reservation for three nights, and this apartment was way cheaper than a hotel, and had the advantage of no traffic outside the door. The apartment was roomy, bright, immaculately clean and furnished very nicely. I was met by Graham at the front door at an agreed time and shown the security system, and a run through of what was at my disposal in the apartment for my stay. Every conceivable thing you could require was supplied, including a complimentary snack assortment, milk water etc. Eateries within a 2minute walk, and a 12minute walk to the V&A Waterfront, where everything in the way of tourist attractions can be arranged. A nice person, nice apartment, and a very nice safe area.

“Wonderful Green Point apartment for 2.”

Great location in Green Point, Cape Town, walking distance to shopping, Waterfront, and many restaurants. Apartment in excellent condition, and obviously carefully cared for with very nice decorative amenities. Would highly recommend.

“5 Star Apartment Accommodation close to Cape Town”

Reviewed 13 May 2014

This accommodation vastly surpassed our expectations!! Even before our arrival Graham was so helpful in organising some tickets to a local event which were purchase in the UK to be signed for by the onsite security staff - many thanks to the Security Officer Chris for doing that. We made arrangement upon our arrival at the airport to text Graham to say that we were on our way and sure enough 20 minutes later with great directions to the apartment we were very warmly greeted by Graham's partner Almo. Almo gave us all the necessary details we needed to know and the icing on the cake was the high quality welcome pack with foodstuffs and even a bottle of chilled water in the fridge. We wanted for nothing! thanks guys!! The immaculate state and cleanliness of the accommodation (it's on the 3rd floor) was immediately evident; the guys had even provided fresh flowers. A very nice touch. The bathroom was particularly spotless and the bedroom very well presented with a very comfy bed. It really is a home from home. The pool area is on the top (9th) floor accessible by a lift and although the pool was freezing the seating areas and particularly the panoramic views of the CPT Stadium, the Golf course and the Urban Park all made up for that minor issue. Sunsets were stunning. This area also has two well appointed gas BBQs. You really must braaii when in SA! The location at Greenpoint is excellent - a few minutes drive to the V&A. The nearby restaurants are easily accessible (walking distance) and we would recommend Hussar which is just down the road and most especially La Mouette which is about 5 mins away by car at Seapoint. The local Liquor store is very well stocked with Premium wines at a snip of UK prices. We would also recommend a local cafe for breakfast (can't remember the name) but it's past Hussar - great coffee and very fast and reliable and free wifi access. A must if you are using your IPad since the apartment provides a internet connection via laptop dongle which Graham tops up for you. Take an early morning stroll down the Urban Park to the lighthouse at Greenpoint for some great views of Signal Hill Lion Head and of course Table Mountain. You should also walk along the promenade to either Grainger Bay or the other way to Seapoint. This is a top notch apartment in a great location with very helpful and generous hosts. It is great value for money too given the high quality and standard of the accommodation. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the Legacy Apartment to anyone. I suspect we will return, hopefully sooner rather than later! The Harpers

“the legacy is excellent”

Reviewed 5 Dec 2013

The apartment is very well appointed and comfortable in a very good location. A marvellous welcome pack any issues where dealt with quickly and efficiently and the level if service and security left nothing to be desired. The poll deck and area must be seen to be believed - quite stunning. I can't recommend the legacy highly enough. Thank you Graham. Mike Wood.

“Absolutely AMAZING accomidations! A true highlight of our vacation!”

Reviewed 14 Sep 2013

My friend and I stayed at the Legacy for 2 weeks while in Cape Town, and we both agreed that it was a true highlight of our vacation. I cannot make enough positive claims about the apartment, location, and how we were treated as clients. Apartment: I wish I lived in this apartment in New York City. I also must have repeated that statement a hundred times during my time in Cape Town. The apartment was spacious, impeccably clean and well maintained, and had a very at-home ambiance. Upon arrival and during our stay, Graham made sure we had everything we needed from shampoo to coffee/tea to a Frisbee for the beach. This apartment has anything you could need and more. We felt completely at home and at ease. The mattress is incredibly comfortable, and the kitchen is convenient and well stocked with plates, cups, cookware, etc. Graham put much thought and love into this apartment and it truly shows. The Legacy is an impressive building. We felt completely safe and very welcomed by the doormen. We also enjoyed relaxing on the rooftop and watching the amazing Cape Town sunsets. Location: The location was perfect for us. As first time visitors to Cape Town, the apartment was right in the middle of everywhere we spent a lot of time - Camps Bay, the V&A Waterfront, and downtown. Dining out required little effort, as many restaurants in the neighborhood were great and we frequented them often. (Note: Mario's is an awesome, family Italian place). The Legacy is on a street with 2 grocery stores and a liquor store, so being able to enjoy the actual apartment was possible and stress-free. As clients: I will always brag about how we were treated as Graham's clients. Graham was always readily available before and during our stay. Booking was painless. We were welcomed by Graham personally and shown around the apartment. He pointed out key places in the neighborhood and made great recommendations. We split our stay at the Legacy with some time at Namibia. Upon both arrivals, Graham left generous welcome baskets with fruit, snacks, rusks, and chocolate. He even left milk and juice in the fridge for us. He noticed we ate ice cream after our first week, and went out of his way to buy the same kind for us for our second week - how thoughtful! I was so relaxed and comfortable in this apartment - would not hesitate to rent it again. You won't be disappointed staying here. We felt completely spoiled at the Legacy and had an amazing vacation because of our stay!

“Better than the pictures!”

Reviewed 25 Aug 2013

This was a wonderful apartment. Graham did everything he could to make our stay seamless and perfect. With a warm welcome, and easy access to Capetown it was more than we could have expected. The apartment was very very clean. The views were exceptional from the rooftop balcony. The access to the harbor and local restaurants was great.

“Luxury at an affordable rate”

“Fantastic place to stay in Cape Town.”

Reviewed 22 Apr 2013

The apartment we had at the Legacy building was superb. The attention and care we received from the owner, Graham, was amazing. He had flowers, breakfast food, nuts, sweets, milk, juice, muffins etc all ready for us when we came. The location was exceptional - a short walk to many places of interest like the waterfront and CBD, and the value for the money we paid was brilliant. Get in touch with Graham if you are going to stay in Cape Town - a real gem.

“Should have stayed longer”

Reviewed 22 Apr 2013

This apartment was a really great find - really great value - and somewhere we would seriously consider returning to (and to think we nearly didn't book because Graham has a funny email address and we thought he might not be legit!) The location overlooking the stadium and urban park in Greenpoint was great for us. My husband and I were travelling with our baby and took a two day pass for the tourist bus, which was really relaxing way to get around with a pushchair. The bus stops on the other side of the urban park, on the promenade, so it was an easy and very pleasant walk back to the flat. The flat is also walking distance to the Waterfront, city centre and some great neighbourhood restaurants (we particularly enjoyed Big Route, a pizzeria that may have some unusual topping combinations, but is wholly authentic in the way it makes the pizzas). A lot of effort had evidently been expended kitting the flat out with not just the usual - in high quality form - but all manner of helpful unexpected extras - ball game, beach towels, bedside torch, clothes washing powder (in contrast with the Greek villa I once stayed in that didn't even give you a dishcloth) and an above and beyond welcome food pack. Graham was really helpful recommending restaurants and providing wifi support (the block's wifi wasn't iPad-friendly we discovered, but it didn't really matter as most restaurants and cafes have wifi) and flexible about the check out time, inviting us to leave our luggage if we wanted to on the morning of departure while the flat was being cleaned for the next guests. The flat is as high spec as it looks in the pictures - all swish and mod cons - with, for instance, double-tracking blackout and privacy curtains. It's pretty roomy - definitely plenty of space for a couple and baby with lots of luggage. And even with a cot up in the bedroom we didn't feel cramped. There's a great roof terrace on the block (not for vertigo sufferers!) as the photos also evidence with stunning views and a groovy plunge pool and impressive-looking (we didn't get to try them) bbq facilities. The only thing approaching a criticism I can come up with is that my husband, who is 6 foot 3, found the bed a bit on the short side.

“Excellent, modern well equipped apartment in great location”

Very modern apartment equipped with everything you will need. The views from the sun deck on the roof of the stadium and waterfront are wonderful.
