A short drive from the cottage will bring you to the market town of Ulverston, the birthplace of Stan Laurel (of Laurel and Hardy fame). “The perfect place for peace, relaxation and rest.”

Reviewed 12 Jul 2013

I have stayed at Orchard Cottage for about three weeks every year for the past thirteen years. It is quiet, comfortable, in a beautiful setting and the owners, Brian and Jenny are the kindest and most hospitable of hosts, willing to go beyond most people would, to make guests comfortable. It is where I spend my spring and summer holidays. Highly recommended!

Owner's reply: Thank you very much for your feedback Kay. It is always a pleasure to welcome you back. We are having all the double glazing replaced this month so the views will be clearer for you next time. We will certainly be looking to upgrade the television as soon as we can too. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

“LOVELY, COSY PERFECT GETAWAY”

Reviewed 15 May 2013

I came for a weekend stay with my boyfriend and it was a really cosy cottage, surrounded by private fields and an apple orchard. Jenny the owner of the cottage was very welcoming and hospitable and made us feel right at home, the cottage was tidy and homely and we especially liked the log fire after a day out. It was lovely and peaceful but not far away from Barrow, which has shops and places to eat. Not far from Lakes wildlife park, and Ulverston is a nice little town with some shops, and places to eat and nice pubs. We had fish and chips from Ulverston and they were beautiful!

Owner's reply: Thank you very much for your feedback. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us. Thank you for our very first Trip Advisor review! We hope to welcome you back soon.
