Getting around

The best way to travel from Vicarage House to the sights of Norfolk and Suffolk is by car. We do have bicycles at the house to visit local pubs and investigate the forest which is 55,000 acres of public land.

Interaction with guest

The house has a team of staff; a house manager who lives in the next door village, who welcomes guests on arrival and gives guests a tour of the house, explaining how everything works (there is also a manual for reminders). She will book restaurants and recommend visits. There is a house keeper who will clean the house during your stay. She lives in the lane and is constantly on hand to help and to suggest outing etc. The swimming pool man visits weekly, the lawns are mowed weekly and the gardener works one day a week. All these people are local and are happy to help.

Very Good

“excellent family holiday house”

Reviewed 13 Aug 2017

We were a family of 15 with 3 dogs aged from twins of 10 to two aged 79. Found the house and pool just right for our party. Local area great for walking and biking. House immaculate and staff very helpful. Would go again.

Owner's reply: We could not have had a more lovely extended family to stay. We would welcome you back in a heartbeat. Thank you for your kind comments.

“Brilliant holiday.”

Reviewed 3 Sep 2016

Had a fantastic time with family aged from one to sixty eight. Pool, tennis courts, football pitch, bikes all used. Well equipped even supplied us with food bags, foil, coffee, tea, spices etc. Could not fault it, just be aware that pool maintenance takes place on a Thursday and the gardeners and grass cutter do come during the week. The house was spotless and is also cleaned again mid week. Staff very friendly and helpful. The weather was wonderful but take antihistamines and repellent to avoid insect bites!

Owner's reply: Dear Linda We are very happy you enjoyed your stay. The team will be thrilled you found the house to your satisfaction. Thank you for selecting Vicarage House. Best wishes Katie and Richard

“Fabulous, well appointed house”

Reviewed 25 May 2013

I took my extended family to Vicarage House in April 2013. It is a great place for a group of people, and brilliantly well stocked with games, dvds, outdoor equipment, wii/xbox, bikes - you name it. Even in cold weather (little time outdoors sadly) it comfortably accommodated 16 and made for a memorable weekend. Katie was also great about posting back some chidren's clothes we left at the house gratis. We will be back.

“Absolutely Perfect”

Reviewed 13 May 2013

Me and my siblings and their offspring rented this property to celebrate my Mum's 70th birthday, and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves The house is stunning, the surrounding area is beautiful and there is plenty to keep you occupied whatever the weather.
