This property is situated on the third floor of a historic old town tenement. Access is via a winding stairwell. There is no lift available.
PARKING****Metered on street parking is available in surrounding streets. Long stay parking is available at the nearby Castle Terrace car park. Free parking is available in residential streets on the outskirts of the City Centre, a short bus ride away. Please ask for directions.

The Grassmarket Flat is situated on the West Bow, Grassmarket, within the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town. The City Centre, Princes Street and Princes Street Gardens are a short walk away. The Forth Road and Rail Bridges, South Queensferry, Stirling and Glasgow City Centre are within a one hour drive from Edinburgh.
The Grassmarket flat is ideally located for those interested in the history of Edinburgh.The West Bow is a steep street in the historic Old Town of Edinburgh, leading from the Grassmarket, up the hill to the world famous Royal mile and Edinburgh Castle, which is a mere two minute walk away.
Directly in front of the Grassmarket Flat is the large open Grassmarket square, now a pedestrian precinct. This was the scene of public hangings, the Porteous Riots and the haunt of the notorious body snatchers, Burke and Hare. The Martyr’s Cross memorial marks the spot of the public gallows where over 100 covenanters were hung for their beliefs.
The predestrian precinct is now host to an extensive number of bars, resturants and quality shops for your enjoyment.

"Excellent accomodation in prime tourist location."
My wife and I stayed at this apartment in late March 2013. We could only describe the apartment as excellent value for money, beautifully presented, homely and ideally located for enjoying all of the sights that Edinburgh has to offer. The ease with which the booking was achieved and the helpful way that the owners responded to all requests mean that when travelling to Edinburgh at any time in the future, the Grassmarket flat will be my first port of call with regards to accomodation.

"Wonderful little flat and gracious hosts"
We couldn't have been happier with this flat and location: it was comfortable and centrally-located, and the owners were very helpful and gave clear and easy directions to find the flat. Such a comfy bed too! The basket of goodies and Christmas tree was an unexpected delight--it made our first Christmas in Edinburgh a memorable one!
We worked hard to ensure this stay over the festive period was just that bit more special. We are glad that it was a memorable break - job done! Regards, Richard & Pauline

"Perfect flat in great location"
What more could you need for a few days in Edinburgh? Clean, compact and convenient and the owners were very flexible and helpful when arranging check in times. Great views over the Grassmarket too.

"Fabulous apartment in superb location"
Beautiful studio apartment centrally located at the West Bow end of Grassmarket. Perfectly equipped for two. Every thought has gone into the comfort of their guests, including the type of supplies you always forget! (teabags, washing up liquid, biscuits, milk and a bottle of wine!). Plenty of local info and a map and the owners are available if you need them (but not if you don't!!). Take note of the unsuitability for certain guests - the three flights of stairs to the front door could be challenging!

"Great location and the perfect place to watch the world go by."
We stayed in this flat for two nights. It was ideally located, with Edinburgh's main attractions within easy walking distance. The area is lively with many bars and restaurants in the vicinity, but the flat itself was very quiet. The flat looks straight out on to Grassmarket and we enjoyed watching the world go by out of the window. The flat was clean and modern, but also cosy. It was perfect for our weekend away and we would definitely stay again.

"Brilliant little gem of a flat"
This is a fantastic, beautiful flat. The location is superb with all the best bits of Edinburgh two minutes walk away. The views, both day and night, are also amazing. Though the flat above flooded the landlord of this flat sorted the whole thing out incredibly quickly, smoothly and professionally. They put us up in a great hotel just down the road for the final night of our stay. Can't really speak highly enough of how great the landlords were with us and how nice this flat is. The key system is great as it means you never have to worry just in case you lose the keys whilst out; you can still get access.

We had a lovely few days staying at this apartment. The flat was very clean and comfortable and ideal for exploring the Old Town. Lots of interesting and quirky local shops including Analogue Books, J. Mellis Cheese shop and Bow Bar pub. We'll be back.

"Lovely little thistle blossom on the Grassmarket!"
This is a great flat and home away from home in Edinburgh. The location is excellent, there's a lovely view out onto the Grassmarket, the apartment is tastefully decorated and cosy for a couple. The owners were very friendly and accommodating and I would definitely stay here again.
