“Fantastic Apartment”

Reviewed 28 Nov 2016

We stayed here just this weekend - what a lovely apartment ! Perfect location, it had everything we needed , I did worry about the spiral staircase, but it added to the charm and well worth the exercise when we opened the door, living room was spacious and looked right out onto the grass market , great for people watching. Two lovely bedrooms, front large room was a little noisy but didn't keep us awake. Kitchen was fantastic complete with the lovely touch of milk in the fridge and tea, coffee, sugar and shortbread biscuits waiting for us.Sean made it easy to book and promptly replied to messages ! Thanks for making it great weekend for us would definitely stay again

We stayed here just this weekend - what a lovely little find ! Perfect location / great price ! Had everything we needed , Spiral staircase was a bit of unexpected exercise but well worth it when we opened the door to our home for the weekend :) living room was spacious and looked right out onto the grass market !Huge bedroom also looking on to the grass market (little bit noisy so choose the back bedroom if you want a bit better sleep - I was just greedy and wanted the bigger room before my sister took it) kitchen was a nice surprise ! Beautiful decor , milk ready and waiting in the fridge / tea bags / coffee / tea towels/ washing up liquid and loads of other things - everything provided ! Shaun made it easy to book and promptly replied to messages ! Thanks for making it great weekend for us would definitely stay again :) x

“A cracking little flat in the midst of it all”

Reviewed 16 Jun 2014

We loved the flat - even the spiral staircase that other reviewers have commented on (we needed the exercise given the amount we were eating and drinking!). The flat is gorgeous - all mod cons but lots of intact character too. It's handily placed at the head of Grassmarket, with support from the backpackers around the corner (who kindly printed my return boarding passes for me and allowed us to store our gear prior to checking in). I can see where other commenters were coming from with respect to the noise but for us that just added to the atmosphere - we enjoyed watching and hearing the world go by below us - but if you're a light sleeper, ear plugs may be a good thing to pack.

“Fabulous flat, amazing location and excellent owner”

Reviewed 20 May 2014

This flat is very comfortable , right in the heart of Grassmarket . Two of the tour buses stop in Grassmarket and then continue to St Andrews square where you can change to a different route if you buy the big ticket that allows you to do that. There is a good store very close to the flat and a local Sainsburys about 5 minute walk from the flat which is very well stocked. Very close by there are smaller eating places, you can eat in or take away , and they offer a good range of light meals. We liked the baked potatoes with humous and roasted vegetables . A few pizza places and fish and chips are available just minutes from the flat. There is an award winning restaurant right under the flat called the Mussel and Steak..we never tried it but look good and was usually busy. Some great history in the Grassmarket area. Key pick up is easy , at Budget Backpackers round the corner and they are a very happy helpful bunch of people! Sean the owner is great and left us some milk and shortbread ..lovely..if you need anything in particular then Sean is your man to ask.

“Really great location and facilities”

Reviewed 14 May 2014

Stayed for two nights at the apartment which was all and more than we had hoped for. The apartment is on the third floor accessed by a stone spiral staircase but easily accessed if all are reasonably mobile. The apartment is of excellent standard clean with all modern appliances, also a welcome pack which was much appreciated. The apartment is in the Grass Market area of Edinburgh which is a good location to access most popular landmarks (Castle, National Museum etc.) Really enjoyed our stay.

“Fab location”

Reviewed 15 Mar 2014

The vendor (Sean) was very helpful throughout the process and even allowed us to park opposite in the Backpackers car park which was much appreciated. Excellent location, great apartment and amenities. We had the front bed room which was a little noisy on an evening but it was no big deal as we were late in ourselves and what would you expect given the location. Would definitely book here again.

“Charming and Convenient”

Reviewed 6 Dec 2013

I stayed with my husband and two grown up daughters and it made all the difference to our stay in Edinburgh. The apartment is conveniently located with a wonderful view of Grassmarket and the Castle. It is very well appointed with every modern amenity but with a lot of old world charm that has been retained during its renovation. It was also very cosy and comfortable. It is close to various dining places that can cater to whether one is after a quick or a more sophisticated meal. The Royal Mile with all its attractions is literally round the corner. The only possible drawback is a rather steep stairwell up to the apartment.

“Excellent location for attending the Fringe”

Reviewed 19 Nov 2013

Although flat is up 2 flights it was not an issue for access. Everything is in the flat - it was clean and modern - we couldn't see any downsides. Although windows are not fully sound proofed the noise wasn't an issue - it is Edinburgh during festival time and it was to be expected - everyone having a good time. It is excellent location for access to the Edinburgh festival venues and the city centre. We have booked again for 2014, this time for a week - wouldn't be surprised if we booked it again for 2015!!
