The flat sits in the heart of Edinburgh's historic Old Town Area called The Grassmarket. Its simply bursting with some of the best shopping Edinburgh has to offer. The area is full to brimming with Scottish Designers, Artisans and independent merchants selling everything from luxurious knitwear to cutting edge fashions, antique books and unique gifts. Most shops are owner operated giving you that personal touch.

Grassmarket is the home of some of the best restaurants and famous pubs with dark Edinburgh history dating back to the notorious days of the grave robbers Burke and Hare and the touching story of GreyFriars Bobby (Why not play the DVD which is in the apartment?).

When you exit the flat you have the choice of climbing the Castle Wynd Steps to the Royal Mile and the Castle or entering the well preserved cobbled streets and medieval architecture of the Grassmarket – Enjoy!

Further details

Check in is from 1pm-3pm and from 6.30pm-8pm. Check out is by 11am

The self catering facilities are excellent with a full sized built in hob and oven, microwave and dishwasher. This apartment is best enjoyed by couples or parents with children. For an additional £15 a high chair and travel cot can be provided. One side of the spacious apartment has a double bed ready made for you. Location description from owner

The Edinburgh region

A 5 minute walk from the flat takes you to Holyrood Park where you can visit The Palace of Holyrood and if feeling energetic climb Arthurs Seat and be rewarded with a panoramic view of Edinburgh.

Grassmarket

Walk round the corner from the flat and enter Princes Street Gardens, below the Castle, remembering to give a pat to Bum The Dog – a memorial to a famous American Dog! The Gardens are a wonderful place to have a picnic, play area for the children, feed the squirrels or just read the paper.

As you leave the flat at the Grassmarket, just in front of you, there is a bus stop and a local bus that takes you to the Port of Leith and the mooring of the Royal Yacht Britannia – well worth a visit!

“Great place to stay!!!!”

Reviewed 20 Jan 2014

I stayed in this apartment in December and had a great time. Edinburgh castle is only a stone throw away and the views of it from the windows and balcony are fabulous! There were two of us staying but the apartment sleeps up to 4 guests with a sofabed provided. Although it is a studio apartment there was plenty of room. The hosts were great with superb communication throughout the booking and we were met at the apartment at the agreed time and shown round. Everything was provided for our stay including a welcome pack on our arrival which was a nice touch. The location of the apartment could not be better and was only a few minutes’ walk to the castle. We will definitely be back! Great value for money and highly recommended.
