Description from owner

Description

Marvel at the stunning castle views from this cosy, classic Edinburgh apartment. With it's large sash windows, Scottish-themed decor, and a mix of vintage furniture you will instantly feel at home here. Enjoy a glass of wine or simply a cup of coffee looking at one of the best views of Edinburgh Castle.

Our Castle View Apartment is a 1st floor, 1 bedroom bijou apartment. There is no better location to enjoy all the city centre can offer. Whether for a long or short stay all the amenities are available for a comfortable stay. In contrast to overlooking the lively Grassmarket from the living room, the bedroom overlooks a quiet courtyard at the back. It is best suited to 2 people but can accommodate 2 extra guests on our new and comfortable sofa bed in the living room.

The Grassmarket itself gets its name from local farmers selling hay, corn and seed. It is better known however for it's public hangings, taking place until 1784 and for the famous Porteous riot. Take a tour and discover the story of the body snatchers Burke and Hare, how half-hingit Maggie survived the Gallows and the world famous story of Greyfriars Bobby!

You will be checking-in to our apartment which you have sole use of so please remember it will be different from checking into a hotel. We look forward to welcoming you from 4pm. Check-out is 11am. You are welcome to drop your bags from 11.15am, letting you go off and enjoy Edinburgh till the apartment is ready for you.

We welcome families and can supply you with a travel cot. Please leave the apartment in a clean and tidy state.

We can provide you with a second set of keys if you need them. We know keys get lost easily but it is expensive for us to keep replacing them. So we will need to charge for any lost keys.

And most importantly of all, enjoy your stay!

Getting around

In Edinburgh city centre it is best to use public transport. The apartment is so central, located in the heart of the Old Town that all city centre attractions and transport links are within easy walking distance. The hop-on, hop-off bus stops just across the road. It's best to avoid having to park a car in the city centre if you can as it can get very expensive. There is parking around but why not use one of the many Park and Ride's outside the city centre where a good bus service will bring you back to the heart of the city.

Interaction with guest

As the apartment is self catering we will let you enjoy your stay in peace but if there are any problems you can contact us at any time during your stay.
