Luxury Self Catering in the Cairngorm National Park and Scottish Highlands with magnificent views, set high on the Braes of Castle Grant near Grantown-on-Spey.
Facing South, Tombain Cottage has great views of the Spey Valley to the rugged Cairngorm mountains beyond. This is undoubtedly one of the best views in Strathspey.
Complete peace and quiet can be found here, yet it is close enough to the popular towns of Grantown-on-Spey and Aviemore.
This recently completed conversion of a 200 year old cottage is now available for holiday accommodation for up to 6 adults and 2 children and offers a luxurious standard in both design and furnishings. Old pitch pine wood and oak have been used throughout, with high quality furnishing and furniture, and a fabulous wood burning stove.
The area is especially well known by those with a love of any kind of outdoor activities, including hill and forest walking, watersports, cycling and mountain biking, pony trekking, quad bike rides and golf. The area is excellent for wildlife with the famous Osprey Centre and Highland Wildlife Park, and of course there are the many Whisky Distilleries closeby. Fishing and Stalking can also be arranged.
Within a short drive you will also find a selection of lovely beaches either on the Moray coast at Nairn and Findhorn. or inland at Loch Morlich or Lochindorb.
In the winter, Tombain is the perfect Ski Chalet, wonderful hill top setting, the choice of skiing and snowboarding at the two Snowsport centres of Cairngorm and the Lecht, plus of course a terrific sledging hill right in front of the Cottage!
Tombain is a great spot for dogs, with a large enclosed garden and with almost unlimited dog walks in the surrounding countryside, although we do recommend using a lead when there is livestock in the fields.
