Situated on the headland just South of Alicante on the Costa Blanca, our house is within the popular area of Gran Alacant. Conveniently placed adjacent to the communal swimming pool and gardens, the house is arranged on three floors and can sleep up to 6 adults. The local white sand beach is one of the best in Spain and has secluded sand dunes along with a couple of wooden beach bars and a watersport centre.. The beach is approx. 15 minutes stroll away down a winding road but it is possible to catch the regular bus or road train back up the hill.In the local area there are a good selection of local and international restaurants and bars, shops,banks, supermarkets and a 24 hour shop. There is an extensive street market every Thursday only a few minutes walk away. There are several more complexes of bars and restaurants within easy reach by foot or the road train. The main Commercial Zone of Gran Alacant is only a few minutes by bus, and provides larger stores, restaurants and bars.Look

The ground floor is an open plan living, dining and kitchen area as well as shower room and utility room. To the front is the living area with large sofa and single chair, coffee table, lamp and wall mounted LCD TV with many UK channels and DVD player with a selection of films. The sofa converts to a double bed, and linen is provided including pillows and quilts. In the large dining area there is an extending table with seating for six and a high chair. A dresser unit stores drinks glasses, books and games for your conveniance. The well equipped kitchen has everything you could need, with child safe induction hob, oven, combi microwave/grill, espresso and filter coffee machine and dishwasher. A door leads to the utility room housing the fridge freezer and washing machine.The first floor has one large airy double room with balcony overlooking the pool, a small table and two chairs make it perfect for early morning coffee or lazy breakfasts. The second bedroom has a double bunk bed with single above. Both bedrooms have built in wardrobes with lots of storage, and all towels and bed linen is provided including duvets for the cooler months.The main bathroom is also on this floor with four piece suit and shower over bath. There is a heated towel rail, as well as storage and large illuminated mirror over the basin.The accommodation is fully air conditioned with hot/cold super quiet inverter units, which provide all year round comfort. There is ample supply of solar heated hot water, which has electric back up heating.

The top floor houses the roof terrace/solarium equipped with sun loungers, table, chairs and barbecue.To the front of the house is a large patio/garden with table and chairs which recline for sunbathing, or this area can be used as secure parking.The communal pool and gardens are directly in front of the house and overlooked by the balcony and roof terrace for peace of mind.The complex has varoius gardens to give a natural feeling and relaxing atmosphere.

The Costa Blanca is well known for its micro climate which keeps avarage temperatures even in winter close to 20 degrees. The region has been popular with British and European holiday makers for many years now and the infastructure has been set up to cater for these tourists.There are a number of excellent golf courses within easy reach and our key holders can arrange club hire, transfers and even discounted green fees.Within easy reach by bus is the vibrant cosmopolitan city of Alicante. With superb shopping facilities, excellent restaurants, bars and nightlife, all combined with traditional Spanish charm there is something for all the family to do. A walk up to the Castle of Santa Bárbara, or the lift, is a must to view the city and outer regions as well as learn some of the history of the city. In the evening, take a walk around the magnificient harbour and marina, maybe stopping off at one of the many eateries or just a bar. A link tram from Alicante will take you towards Benidorm and all it's nearby attractions. Terra Mitica, Terra Natura, Aqualandia and Mundamor are but a few. There is plenty here to keep the family entertained.Taking the bus in the other direction will bring you to the fishing town of Santa Pola. Small but perfectly formed, Santa Pola has a lot to offer. Well equipped beautiful white sand beaches branch out from the central harbour area, to the north are the quieter beaches, to the south you'll find the tourist beaches with many bars and restaurants as well as water sports. In this area you'll also find Pola Park, great to entertain the kids in the evening. From the Harbour take a glass bottomed Catamaran trip to the island of Tarbaca. A quaint settlement which is now a nature reserve.
Gran Alacant is a town which is built up of smaller villages or poligono's, each with it's own style and central area of shops, bars and resteraunts, all interconnected by an excellent bus and road train service.With a vibrant street market every Thursday only a stones throw away, the house is well placed in this popular yet quiet area of Monte y Mar. Local amenities include, banks, supermarkets, pharmacy, shops, bars and restaurants of every variety. From traditional family run Spanish to a steak house or Indian, there is something for every pallet, and a different choice for every day of your holiday.The main Commercial area of Gran Alacant is a short hop on the bus or train, here you'll find a large choice of shops, bars and eateries, as well as three hyper markets, a department store and later this year a bowling alley and cinema.The local beach, Carrabasi beach, is a short walk away. Approached through sand dunes, the beach has an organic feel about it, yet has facilities including life guards, sun loungers, parasols, showers and refreshments from wooden huts. The beach has an area for water sports and is becoming very popular with kite surfers and wind surfers alike. Nearby Santa polar has a large wind surf school and hire centre.Just the other side of the road from the beach is a beautiful nature reserve in a valley with excellent wildlife and plantlife to view.

“Immaculate accommodation in a quiet, residential location”
Not long back from spending a week staying at the Mount and Sea View House. We had requested an airport pick up and were met by Ken at the airport on arrival. A short car journey brought us to the accommodation where we were met by Pam who showed us around and gave us some great advice on the area, places to eat and drink, public transportation etc etc. The property itself was immaculate and just what we expected. Tastefully decorated with all mod cons and only a short stroll to the nearest supermarket. The property is located in a very quiet, residential area of Gran Alacant. It is also situated on the top of a hill which is easy to walk down heading towards the promenade but not as easy to walk back up after a day of sunbathing on the beach. We had an excellent week weather wise and the only downside of the holiday was that after spending hours sunbathing on the fabulous rooftop terrace, we couldn't nip down to the communal pool for a quick dip as it was being refurbished. Thanks to Pam and Ken for all your help and advice and to James for letting us stay at your property. We would definitely consider returning.

“Fantastic holiday home”
This was our 4th visit to Jim and Laurie's house, and it gets better every time. Home from home, everything you need. Just a short walk to local bars, restaurants and supermarket. 2 min drive to a lovely beach or a 10 min walk if your feeling energetic. highly recommended for all age groups, we travelled with my 2 kids aged 10 and 7 and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

“A great house for a great holiday”
Myself, husband and young teenage son travelled. The house was spotless and very comfortable. The air con, was brillant as July was really hot. There is a little under stair cupboard with toys/beach stuff you can borrow. My teenage son was delighted to use the buggy boards for riding the waves on the beach! Also having the TV with all the main channels was a big hit with him. Did not use the DVD as we were out every night !! Plenty of local restaurants/ bars to keep you busy. Views from the roof terrace were fab. The house is situated right beside the pool, which is really handy. The pool and pool area are very well maintained, there is a lovely relaxing atmosphere poolside. The beach is fantastic, really clean sand and the beds etc, well looked after. You can walk to the beach which is down hill but the walk back is a killer in the July heat !!! Only did it the once, usually took the car. The house is close to the supermarket if on foot and there was a great little market on the Thurs just a few blocks away. Not too big, but all the essentials you would expect, shoes/clothes/jewellery/bags etc as well as fresh fruit and veg, cheeses, olives. Got a few bargins to take home! There is plenty to see in the area if you have car hire but we also took the local bus one of the days to nearby Santa Pola, which has a diving club and who we went snorkelling with off the nearby island of Tarbaca. Santa Pola is also lovely for a night out dining or shopping. So is Alicante town, also acessible by the nearby bus. Well worth a visit, we went in the evening and the buzz was great. Have to say we had a wonderful holiday and the house would be our first choice to book if we were making a return visit. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends. “We just keep coming back for more!!”
You never want for anything in this house and location. We have returned 3 times now and still can not think of a better way to spend a family holiday. With a fully equipped house in located in a quiet area just a short walk to bars and restaurants and served by a very cheap and reliable bus service to many other towns dotted around the area. The pool is superb and very well maintained and updated. Ticks all the holiday boxes!

“Very nice villa and location”
The villa was very well equipped and gave us everything we needed, the area was lovely and quiet and the pool being right outside the front door was a big bonus that we enjoyed. The area is very good with shops, bars and resturants all in walking distance and the available train to travel is great which links up to other areas which have bars and restuarants also. The beach is a short walk down hill or you can use the train walking back up is ok if you take your time otherwise just use the train. The supermarket is located very close buy and has everything you need especially if you fancy a night in. We have re-booked to use this villa again and intend to become regulars as long as availability allows.
