“A fantastic villa in a brilliant location.”

Reviewed 10 Jul 2016

We were met by Angie & Joe, who were very helpful and friendly. Villa was clean, and Kim has thought of everything you would need. Pool was crystal clear and inviting. Kids are 18 & 15, and had great fun with the inflatables and the water guns (and so did we!) Viila backed onto wooded/open ground, so very quiet and not over looked, and was not plagued by insects, which was lovely. Fantastic views from the sun terrace, but got very hot during the day. The veranda at the front was nice and cool if you wanted somewhere shady to sit. Area was very quiet, but within a few minutes by car there were several centres with many restaurants and pubs, would especially recommend 'Get Fresh' & 'Grill Flavor' in the Centro Comercial, and the Patagonia Argentinian Steak House in the Mayor Plaza. All in all had an amazing holiday, and would definitely go back again. Thank you Kim, Angie and Joe.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for a detailed review, so happy you enjoyed your stay at Bijou. Look forward to welcoming you all back again.

“Everything we hoped for”

Reviewed 30 Sep 2014

We stayed at Villa Bijou from 6th Sept to 20th Sept 2014. The whole process from booking to the speedy return of our security deposit was excellent. Kim (the owner) could not have been more helpful and informative, always responding immediately to questions we may have had. We booked Peter to collect and return us to the airport, (it is 10 minutes away but you would never know), through Kim and he was waiting for us on arrival, he was very helpful regarding the area and gave us some helpful tips. On arrival at the villa we were met by Angie and Joe on the steps with a big welcome smile and Hola. They showed us around the villa etc and gave us the keys. They came back the next morning to make sure everything was ok and we had no problems. Angie gave us her phone number to contact her should we need any help. The villa is beautiful with all the amenities you could need. There were only two of us so it felt great having all this space to relax in, ( didnt know which bathroom to use next). Air con units are in all rooms and are great if it gets too hot at night. The pool is faboulous and we swam everyday, temperature in the 30's for the two weeks, pool was always warm. Tv and wifi excellent, all the usual English channels and fast wifi connection. Local shop, restaraunts and bars approx 10 minutes walk from villa, little bit further to main commercial centre, my wife has heart problems so we used local taxi man Steve to drop us down there when needed, he was recommended by Angie and was only a text away to pick us up. Commercial centre has a good range of shops and bars. The road train is also a good way to get around and get to know the area. 3 euros for a round trip. takes approx 1 hour with 12 stops, think you can get on and off 4 times, stops at beach, shops and restaraunts, also the chemist. All in all it was an excellent holiday/viewing trip as we are planning to buy and move to this area. Would highly recommend this villa if you are looking for peace and relaxation. (We did travel outside school holidays ).

“Superb Villa!!!”

Just returned from a 2 weeks stay in VILLA BIJOU, the villa was excellent. On arrival we were met by Angie and Peter who were very welcoming. The villa has everything you need for a great relaxing holiday. A bonus to this villa is that it has drinking water on tap. The villa is in a quiet location, is very clean and spacious and has an excellent pool. It is in easy walking distance to shops, bars and public transport. The airport transport arranged was excellent. Hope to visit again soon. Thanks again.

Owner's reply: Thank you for staying at Bijou, we have a great team out there to ensure you have a perfect holiday from start to finish.

“Villa Bijou - Brilliant Holiday, Brilliant Villa”

Reviewed 3 Jul 2013

We have just returned from our holiday and we had a fantastic time staying at Villa Bijou. On arrival the Villa was spotlessly clean we were given a warm welcome by Angie who showed us around and told us a about the Villa & local amenities. We have visited Gran Alacant before so we had a good idea where everything was located and the Vila was only a 10min walk to the GA centre (main shopping area) which also has bars and restaurants in. Also within a short walk was the SuperValu supermarket and square which has bars and places to eat in as well. A bonus was two little parks nearby which were perfect for the kids! We didn’t walk to the beach but used the little tourist train to get around (pick up ta the GA Centre). The villa was very spacious and well equipped for our party ( 4adults 2children) and all of us enjoyed the lovely pool and terrace area. It felt like home from home and we truly had a wonderful stay, we would like to say a big thank you to Angie & Peter who particularly made us feel very welcome on our arrival and departure. We hope to return again soon!

Owner's reply: Thank you for your very informative review, very helpful for future guests.

“Brilliant Bijou”

Reviewed 18 Jun 2013

We have just returned from a fab week stay at Villa Bijou. The villa is lovely and very well equipped. The pool and surrounding terrace is just super. We had such a relaxing time. Kim was very helpful and accommodating and arranged for our airport pick up and welcome pack. There are plenty shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance and a visit to the beach is a must. Everything was just perfect and we hope to organise a return visit soon.

Owner's reply: So pleased you enjoyed your stay at Bijou, we look forward to your return. Thank you for your great comments.

“Great location for a family holiday”

Reviewed 17 Apr 2013

We had a wonderful fortnight at Villa Bijou. The taxi transfers arranged by Kim went smoothly and included a useful tour, Angie was at the villa to greet us with the keys and our shopping which was a great help. We also hired a travel cot, bed guard, highchair and stair-gate that Angie and Joe had put up ready for use. The villa was spotless, and we were very impressed with all the facilities. The kitchen was very well equipped, and everything was easy to use. The pool area is gorgeous and the children were pleased to find some inflatables to play with, as well as buckets and spades for the beach. It's worth noting that you cannot wear sun protection in the pool which was slightly problematic with the children, they had to swim with a t-shirt on. The villa is in a great location, just a short walk from shops, bars and restaurants, Grill Flavour upstairs in the square has delicious food and the staff are lovely. The beautiful beach is within walking distance although the little tourist train that circuits the town was only 8 euros for the six of us to hop on and off all day. It is worth walking down a little bit further along the road to the busier part of the beach nearer the shops and cafes it had a great atmosphere. There is a fantastic Italian restaurant, a lovely ice cream parlour there. There were play parks on almost every corner for the little children and the older children enjoyed the Zorbs and Air Hockey in the square. The buses to Alicante and Santa Pola were easy to use once we got the hang of them. Alicante was great later in the day, and we would recommend the Castle. The Villa was just what we were looking for, and a great base for our holiday, we would love to return.

Owner's reply: So pleased you all had a great holiday at Villa Bijou and thank you for the 5 star rating. Please use your sun protection cream, we only ask you to use pool shower to remove excess cream before going into the pool as this can affect the efficient running of the pool pump and filters.

“Our second stay here thats all the advice you'll need!”

Reviewed 19 Aug 2012

We have now stayed twice at the villa and it is one of the best placed villas in the area, unoverlooked and with friendly neighbours. Ten minutes in either direction are bars and restaurants and there are four or five supermarkets in a stones throw. Do you need a car? not really but we always do and Santa Pola market is very good on a Monday and only down the road. All in all being a return customer is praise enough i think, we always have a trouble free stay. With all that you hear about Spain this area does seem to be bucking the trend and is very well kept and the nearby beach is beautiful (if you can get near it we made the mistake of going on a bank holiday it was chaos) the new walkways to the sand are just the best idea. We only villa holiday now as it is the only way to get a perfect pool and no rush for sun beds in the morning. Watch out for Karmel in the super valu she aint to happy but we use the Mercadona it has to be the cheapest place to shop by far. Alicante is ten minutes away and you can see it from the roof terrace however all the planes go north from the runway and you get one flight a day go towards Malaga over you so absolutly no noise from the airport at all and it took us 45 minutes from aircraft to villa on our arrival. A great relaxing holiday with no hassle!

“Great welcome, fabulous villa, wonderful surroundings”

Reviewed 19 Jul 2012

The villa is situated in a nice quiet neighbourhood, but is an easy walk to the local shops and restaurants. It's very well appointed and the pool is fabulous. The nearby beach is just a few minutes by car, has easy access, and a cafe / bar on the sand! We had a lovely welcome, even though we got there late at night. We had no problems of any kind and would definitely recommend the villa and the town itself.

“Excellent holiday with everything we could want”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2011

We spent a superb week in Kim's lovely villa - everything is there that you could want. Villa is situated in a quiet neighbourhood, although you are near to all amenities (shops, restaurants, etc within 10 minutes walking distance with lots of others just 10 minutes drive away at Santa Polo and surrounding area) with large towns like Alicante (good for all tyopes of shopping and bars/restaurants, etc) just 20 minutes away by car. Beach only 10 minutes away and excelleny with free parking as well! Very relaxing, great pool area, and accommodation superb, would recommend to anyone.
