Rainbirds is a 5 bedroom property situated within a 5 min walk of Graiguenamanagh, the Village of the Monks, which lies in the heart of the Sunny South East. This property has beautiful countryside views and is ideal for large groups/families as three of the five bedrooms have their own ensuite bathroom. This property is also suitable for people with mobility problems as it has a large ground floor bedroom and en suite bathroom. Wheelchair ramp access is also through the rear door.

A decked and planted area with table and seating is situated directly outside the French doors leading from the bright and airy kitchen/dining room. The large lawn area is perfect for children to play around and the drive is laid with tarmac should they wish to use their bikes/scooters. Across the road are two large playing fields which are also suitable walking dogs. Off road parking for several cars is available.

Changeover day is normally Saturday but can be flexible subject to bookings. The property is available from 3.00 p.m. on arrival day.

20% deposit required to secure booking with the balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to arrival date. A security deposit of 200 euros is required before arrival and refunded upon satisfactory inspection after departure.

Please vacate the property by 10.00 a.m. on your departure day to facilitate cleaning for the next arrivals.

The Province of Leinster region

Duncannon Beach in Co. Wexford is a large sandy beach that cars are allowed to park on. There are 2 quieter beaches in Feathard-on-Sea , Co. Wexford and Tramore in Co. Waterford is a large seaside resort with amusements- 1 hour drive.

This property is an excellent starting point also for those wanting to explore the Medieval capital of Ireland-Kilkenny with its Norman Castle-as well as the former Viking port of Waterford, the bustling cosmopolitan Norman town of Wexford and the thriving market town of Carlow. Superb shopping awaits you in all four towns.

45 mins drive will take you to the beautiful beaches of Co. Wexford. Mount Juliet Championship golf course - 12 miles. Borris golf course - 5 miles.


The Duiske Abbey, situated in the middle of the village, which recently celebrated its 800th anniversary in 2004 is well worth a visit. Pop in to the visitor centre (located next to the library) to enquire about a guided tour.

For your traditional pub Mick Doyle's and Mick Ryan's are a must. Half shop and half pub... the best kind.

Graiguenamanagh was recently featured at length in James May's and Oz Clarke's tour of Britain and Ireland.

The village with its river Barrow flowing through is also a delight for fishing enthusiasts and for walkers, who can explore the many beautiful lochs along its banks.

For the more energetic, Brandon Hill is situated just outside the village and cannot be beaten for its views on a fine day. There are excellent pubs and restaurants in the village as well as the neighbouring villages of Borris and Inistoige.

"Half Term perfection"

We caught the ferry over to Ireland & had excellent directions from the Ferry to Craig & once in Craig even at midnight - we found Rainbirds very easily. Rainbirds is deceivingly spacious & perfect for our large family 2 adults & 5 wee ones. The kids all settled into comfortable bedrooms with ensuites - simply fantastic - & televisions - they were very happy. Happy Children - happy parents. The kitchen was wonderfully open planned with everything you would need for a small break. Wonderful sitting room, comfortable beds, great hot water for baths & power showers. A blissful base for our trip to visit family. Easy quick walk into Craig & easy access to other areas in Ireland. Simple Perfection & fantastic attention to detail - when back in Craig we will defiantely look RAIN BIRDS up again!. ( - the gate is quite stiff - although good security - just needed my strong husband to open it!!)
