My fiancée stayed in this house during the last weekend of February 2016 as part of her hen with a large group. The house had a great number of en-suite bedrooms, a hot tub and all the crockery, linen etc. that was needed for the stay. The house is also situated in a good location for the Gosport Ferry near other local amenities such as shops and has ample parking. All of the hen party were very complimentary about the house and were stunned by the number of bathrooms and showers. The hen party stayed in Wing 1 which was more accessible and included a wet room and the use of a ramp so one of the hen's less able friends was able to visit the house and join in. Nothing was too much trouble for the owner Evelyn who answered any queries before and after the booking was made.

Arrived and greeted by owner, excellent property both inside and outside with all facilities for our extended family! Good beds and showers and a large amount of parking. Had a great weekend.

This property was lovely. There was ample space for all 16 of us even when we were all in the lounge together. We all had a family birthday meal on the Saturday night and could all sit comfortably round the table. However the kitchen is really small and not very conducive to cooking for a lot of people. The garden and hot tub were wonderful and we made good use of the tub despite the British weather! Would love to have been able to make more use of the garden which is well equipped with ample seating. Evelyn was really helpful with both the enquiry/booking stage and on arrival.

We booked this for a 2-night hen weekend in March. The booking process, questions, check-in and return of deposit were faultless and efficient. The house is easy to find and the beds were all comfortable and clean, the rooms also. The bathrooms were all in good condition, but the shower pressure quite poor. The artwork on the walls is an acquired taste, but provided a few laughs... The kitchen area is a little small for 17 people coming in and out, but well -equipped and the extra fridge was useful. The hot tub was a bonus and on when we arrived, however so chlorinated that it was not used much as stung our eyes and the fumes were choking. Gosport itself is fairly uninspiring, but there is a Waitrose close by for provisions, and we were able to walk to the ferry to get to Portsmouth for the evening.

I booked 1908 Lodge for my sister's hen party and I'm very glad I did. The house is huge, spotlessly tidy and has the added bonus of a hot tub! Evelyn was extremely easy to deal with when booking and upon arrival. She was also available when I had any questions over the weekend. We had a fantastic time and I will be booking the place again. The back garden is huge so I look forward to using it in summer!

We stayed in Wing One of 1908 lodge the last weekend in January and it was ideal for a large group party. With the large dining room on one floor and the very spacious living room on another there was plenty of space for everyone to be together or as separate as they wanted. The rooms were clean and of a good size with mostly ensuite facilities. There were also a number other loos so no queueing. The kitchen was a little on the small side and the oven is a bit temperamental ( but I was warned about this upon check in and it really didn't impact our stay). The manager was very friendly and even set up the hot tub for us, even though it was out of season. All in all the perfect place to go with a large group of friends or family. There were 19 of us and we never felt squashed.

We had a great week in this property - 6 grandchildren, 6 children / spouses, 2 au pairs, my wife and me. Was birthday of 8 year-old grandson. He LOVED all the military stuff. Property was very comfortable for all of us. Everyone loved the hot tub. Excellent garden - particularly for kids. Lovely walks nearby.

Thanks Evelyn for a great stay for my daughters Hen party - everything went according to plan from the Friday night - Hunk in Trunks, Chinese take away and hot tub party, Saturdays Where's Wally Treasure Hunt, Rib Boats, Dodge Ball Tournament and dancing at Gunwharf Quays through to the survivors Sunday Lunch in the sunshine overlooking the sea! Thank you for all your recommendations and for the perfect house for 21 hens! Everyone loved the house and garden - lovely big rooms, proper beds for everyone - lots of bathrooms with lashings of hot water - and really well equipped with everything we needed for the weekend and easy to get everywhere by walking or taxis and the people of Gosport were so welcoming. Cannot recommend 1908 Lodge enough!

A group of 15 of us stayed in the 1908 Lodge for a long weekend. The weather was stunning and we were able to make full use of the huge garden and hot tub. The house was really spacious with plenty of bathrooms for everyone. The only downside was the small kitchen but we managed to persuade the local fish and chip shop to deliver, so problem solved. Lulu's cafe at the end of the road is fab too. Evelyn was really helpful in arranging our spa day at Miracles, and the shopping trip across the water rounded the weekend off perfectly. Overall, great value for money.

We stayed in the 1908 Lodge for a hen party in May 2013. Evelyn was incredibly helpful at every stage of the booking and also kindly waited for our grocery delivery when we were delayed on the check-in day. We were a group of 18 hens with two dogs and everything was perfectly set up for us. Even when we were missing some kitchen implements, Evelyn helped us source them from the next-door property. The kitchen and dining room were well-set up for catering for big groups and all the bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and exceptionally clean. The garden and hot tub were an added extra bonus. We had a great weekend and I'd highly recommend the property!
