“A beautiful, peaceful home-from-home”

Reviewed 12 Sep 2013

While great care and attention has gone into the tasteful conversion of this old farm building, that is not all that makes this a wonderful place to stay - the owners have tried to think of everything their guests might need, including a welcome pack containing bread and wine (just what you need after a long journey!) The property is rather remote, but this means that you really can get away from it all: we spent several sunny evening on the private, secluded patio, playing card games, chatting and generally chilling out. I would definitely recommend this idyllic property to anyone.

“Beautiful Cottage in Lovely Surroundings”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2013

We stayed in La Coulonge for only one week but we could have easily stayed for much longer. Upon arrival to the cottage we knew it was going to be special and it did not disappoint. The standard of the cottage is superb throughout and it is such a warm, cosy and comfortable place to stay. The owners did everything they could to make sure that La Coulonge is a great place to stay for everyone. We were welcomed with a lovely hamper of some red wine, cheese, bread and butter to get us started. Adding to this there is a folder with extensive information about the cottage itself, the surrounding areas, what to do and lots more. The neighbours opposite were also very friendly and gave us some of their own chicken's eggs to get us going. There are plenty of local towns with fresh bakeries, butchers, restaurants and supermarkets. The region of Normandy is very pretty and exactly what we were after. From the cottage you can easily reach many places worth visiting for days out by car. Or if you prefer, the cottage is nice enough in itself just to kick back, relax and enjoy a peaceful holiday. Would recommend highly to anybody who fancies a lovely holiday for a great price.

“A thoroughly relaxing getaway - the cottage and setting were perfect, we didn't want to leave!!”

We visited La Coulonge in December and were seeking somewhere that we could relax in the run up to christmas - we were certainly not disappointed! The directions were excellent, and although the cottage was set away from any main roads we found it easily. The welcome was unexpected but most appreciated - we did not have the foresight to bring some goodies for when we arrived so the welcome hamper was just the ticket, a really thoughtful extra! The property itself was really warm and cosy and felt like home from home, being decorated and maintained to an extremely high standard. The surrounding area was were very picturesque, and we were fortunate to have a few sunny days to sit out in the garden area and enjoy it - we can't wait to return in the summer and take full advantage! All in all everything we had hoped for and more - a beautiful clean home from home in a very pretty setting, although close enough to amenities not to feel isolated. The friendly neighbours and welcome hamper from the owners were the icing on the cake for a perfect break, we are already checking dates for this year!!

“Lovely holiday home”

Reviewed 6 Aug 2012

We had a wonderful stay at your cottage, which was thoroughly relaxing and just what we needed. The cottage itself was easy to find, as clear directions given to us from the owners prior to our journey, and in lovely surroundings, very peaceful. We had everything that we needed, it was comfortable and clean on our arrival, and the welcome basket of wine, croissants, butter and milk were a very nice touch and appreciated. The cottage was very spacious, the new extension was lovely and we felt quite at home. We were lucky enough to have some really good weather while we were there, which also made our holiday more special, and the outside space is great to relax in, with regular visits from the chickens. A really good place for a family holiday, and we would not hesitate to visit again, would highly recommend to others. Thanks again.

“Well Equipped Lovely Cottage”

Reviewed 19 Apr 2012

This Cottage Is quite rural so makes for a peacefull Holiday, you definitely need a car to tour this beautiful region, whilst in the area we saw Eagles and also Red Squirels. The Goat tethered just yards from the Cottage is very freindly and partial to a slice of bread. We had a Terriffic Holiday.

“Peace, quiet and a stunning view of the stars”

Reviewed 22 Sep 2011

The cottage and surrounding area was wonderful for the country tranquility, but there were some lovely villages locally and plenty of large supermarkets within easy reach. The walking and riding were great and the weather held out for us. All the facilities at the cottage were excellent, the kitchen was well equipped, and with the freesat you were never far from blighty and something to watch in the evenings. With places like Le Mans within easy reach, you're never short of something to do or somewhere to go. Places not to miss; Mont St Michel., St Malo., Rennes. Hope you have as good a time as we did :o)
