Clovelly is situated in the lovely village of Gorran Haven with many coastal walks and beaches to explore. It is just a few minute's leisurely walk to the beach, Cakebreads local shop and coffee shops. You can walk down to Cakebreads for your newspaper and fresh bread each morning enjoying a lovely walk round the village at the same time.
Clovelly consists of 3 bedrooms sleeping 5, 1 with en suite shower room, plus luxury sofa bed in the sun lounge sleeping 2 people, family bathroom, and a separate WC, it has a lovely, well equipped kitchen, a dining room, lounge with comfortable leather suite, utility area, a sunny conservatory with two large comfortable cane chairs and a sun lounge with table/chairs seating 4 ideal for breakfast or doing one of the many jigsaw puzzles we have, plus sofa bed and two comfortable chairs, Clovelly offers many rooms to sit and relax in. The main bedroom has a TV. We also provide Wi-Fi .
There is also a good sized, well stocked, private, enclosed garden which is in full sun all day. It is also a perfect garden for children to play in.
It is just 5 minutes walk from the playing fields with swings, slide and climbing frame and a tennis court.
Please note Saturday changeover.
We do accept one or two very well behaved dogs.

“i'll be back ...”
I am just back home after spending a wonderful week with family in Clovelly and it most certainly will not be our last visit. The house was perfect for the 5 of us who stayed there, there are so many different rooms that you can spend your time in. If you wanted to all be together then you could easily all fit into one of the rooms but it was also nice to sneak off to the conservatory and read a book in the peace and quiet. During our time there we had a family gathering in the conservatory and we were able to fit 11 of us in there with no problem! I was staying in the smaller room of the 3 which has the added bonus of an ensuite in it - it was perfect for me and I enjoyed the convenience of my own bathroom. The house was incredibly clean and well looked after and the owners are lovely and very welcoming! The house is just a short distance from the beach which even in October it was nice to visit and go for a little walk. I highly recommend this holiday home to anyone wanting to visit Cornwall. You will not regret your decision!

“Another great stay”
This was our fourth stay at Clovelly. we chose this property because of its location,it's Close to Gorran haven beach,the Eden project and the lost gardens of Heligan. The Bungalow is set in its own secure garden and so,is safe for children. The owners provide a great cream tea on arrival as well as milk in the fridge . There is ample parking for three cars. We travel as a family and would recommend this holiday cottage highly.
“Comfy spacious and well equipped Bungalow - highly recommended!”
Lovely Bungalow near the top of Gorran Haven village, a 7-8 minute walk down to the beach. We were a party of 4 and this property suited us really well as my teenage son got his own en suite (in the single room) and my younger son had the twin room. The bungalow is warm, comfortable and very well-equipped with a large garden and nice patio area. The 2 conservatories made nice areas to sit and read and we also dined in the main one most nights as this overlooks the garden. Jayne the owner was extremely helpful from booking right through to the end of our holiday. She is also a fab cook and the cream tea on our arrival was a lovely touch and much appreciated!

“Lovely bungalow and garden with a great view”
The first thing you notice when you enter Clovelly is how clean it is. It's a well equipped spacious and comfortable bungalow. Whatever the weather, we had a sunny warm week, you can enjoy the view over the hills, either from the large garden or the conservatory. There are some great cliff top walks, with lovely views and a quiet unspoilt beach nearby. Do take advantage of Jayne's cooking. We had a wonderful quiche.

“Everything you could hope for and more.”
A wonderful, welcoming, roomy house which is clearly loved by the owners and they have thought of everything you could possibly need. The highlights for me were the welcoming cream tea after a long journey, the light and airy accommodation, and the garden which the children spent hours playing in leaving us to relax in the conservatories whilst still able to keep an eye on them. It was completely secure. Didn't want to leave and would definitely stay there again. So close to many National Trust venues as well as the well known local attractions (beach/Heligan/Eden/Mevagissey). The photos just don't do it justice.

“Clean, well-equipped, well placed, first class”
We stayed at Clovelly Bungalow as we had some very specific needs - an ensuite for my elderly mother plus two more bedrooms for my brother and my husband and me. Also no stairs and easy access. Phew - quite an ask! But this bungalow had it all as well as being in very good order with a well equipped kitchen and plenty of space. Jayne made us a superb cake to greet us, and there were other useful 'bits' in the kitchen - salt and pepper, milk, oil, tea, coffee etc, which was a nice touch although we'd brought our own. Very comfortable, and plenty of rooms so we could get away from each other! Lots to see and do not too far away - National Trust properties and gardens for Ma and brother, whilst husband and I 'did' the Bodmin and Wenford Railway which was excellent. We also took the train from St Austell to St Ives (very reasonable (cheaper than petrol+parking), and great view along the coast which you wouldn't get in a car) and visited the Tate (*****). Food there was also very good. Mevagissey was lovely, and there are plently of beaches around if that's your thing. Highly recommended for a family holiday

“An absolutely superb location with the perfect hosts.”
If you are looking for premium accommodation with hosts that are attentive in Cornwall this is an ideal location. Jayne & Richard's unobtrusive involvement at the start of our stay was very much appreciated. We love walking from this location on the South Coast Path and will be going back soon with or without the children and grandchild. The gardens are perfect for the youngsters and we older sporting folk to enjoy ourselves. If you want further information from us please ask. Judith, Jeff & family.

“A delightful home from home”
Booking was simple and informal, great communication directly with the owners. Fabulous cream tea on arrival which started the holiday nicely. Accommodation was spacious and well equipped with everything you would need. The little touches such as prettily folded towels complete with hotel style ribbons on the flannels, liquid soap at all the sinks and plenty of dishwasher tablets were thoughtful extras. The sun room was particularly lovely in the mornings with great views of the garden and beyond. We all took turns to sit in the recliner chair! Plenty of storage space in the bedrooms. Previous guests who have stayed here have commented on the narrow gate to the driveway however we did not experience this as a problem in our VW Passat, we followed the advice of the owners to reverse in and drive out with a passenger in the road to check for traffic. There is a short walk (about 5-10 minutes) down hill along Rice Lane to the sea (no footpath for most of it but minimal traffic). On the way you pass the car park where the bus to and from St Austell and surrounding villages stops (worth knowing a family bus ticket is available - see Mevagissey info below), Harbours Reach which is a licensed cafe (we can't comment because we did not visit it), Cakebreads the shop/Post Office/bakery (excellent cakes and bread and well stocked with some fresh produce as well as the usual convenience store goods - very friendly staff), opposite are the public toilets, the beach shop selling wetsuits and buckets and spades etc, a fish and chip shop (yummy), the coast path cafe behind the chip shop and the Mermaid Beach Cafe. Both the fish and chip shop and Mermaid cafe serve hot drinks in mugs which you can take to the beach and return when you are done. The beach is sandy and clean, the harbour on the right is a great place to eat fish and chips and when the tide is out it exposes the bottom of the harbour walls. At high tide we watched kids jumping into the sea from the end of the harbour. To the left there is another beach (Little Perhaver) which you can walk to along the beach at low tide or at high tide head up hill for a short walk and take the second signposted path and follow until you reach the very steep steps down to the beach. Both beaches have exposed sand even at high tide. We preferred the slightly quieter Perhaver Beach - the waves seemed to be better for body boarding, we even dolphins fairly close to the beach and spent at least 15 minutes watching them swim and jump in the bay. We took a few day trips. We thought the Sea Life Centre at Newquay was overpriced, and parking in Newquay was a real pain. Nice beach though. Fowey (rhymes with joy) was very pretty and had lots of lovely little shops and cafes. There was a rowing regatta on while we were there which added to the atmosphere. We parked in the main car park at the top of the hill which was easy to get to. Eden Project was a great day out for all of us, during the summer there was later opening and we stayed until 8.00pm. We all enjoyed walking up the wobbly stairs to the observation tower above the rainforest biome and lunch was great too. We took the coastal path to Mevagissey from Gorran Haven. The three mile walk was well worth the muddy trails and the scenery was spectacular. We passed through Portmellon on the way. Our children 7yrs, 9yrs and 13yrs all managed perfectly well. Mevagissey was very pretty, the museum was interesting (and free) and we took a boat trip around the harbour. Lunch was tasty from the cafe on the market square. We took the bus back from Mevagissey to Gorran Haven, it took about 25 minutes and for 2 adults and 3 children cost only £5. Kids go free with the family ticket. Bear in mind that the last bus back was at about 5.00pm. Lobbs Farm Shop was a great place to get local produce their cheese and their meats are fabulous. We didn't get to the Lost Gardens of Heligan next door though. We though the bungalow was in a great location, very comfortable and well equipped, we properly relaxed and cliche or not it was a home from home. We loved the village and thought it had great facilities. We have already booked to come back next year!

This was our first stay at Clovelly holiday bungalow. There was a lovely cream tea waiting for us on arrival with chocolate butterfly cakes for our Grandson. The milk in the fridge was much appreciated after a long drive. The bungalow is set in a large well kept safe garden with parking for three cars,it was spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything you could want including excellent quality linen and towels. It,s near the beach,the lost garden of Heligan is just a short drive away. We,ve already booked for next and can,t wait .
