Location description from owner

The Dalmatia region

Centrally located means you can explore the area daily and return at the end of each day to sit on your terrace, watch the sun go down and reflect looking at your photos.

Dubrovnik, the jewel of The Adriatic, there is so much to do and see within its walls and around. Seeped in history walk the famous walls, visit the church of St Blasius or take a guided walk of the old town or for the energetic, kayaking around them! Eat and drink around the harbor or even on the walls, with views of the Adriatic, or within the ancient shaded, cobbled streets.

Visit the 'trendy' fishing village of Cavtat. During the day you can meander through the old streets or promenade around the coast line and head to a beach or enjoy a long lunch in the many restaurants on offer there. The rich and famous arrive in the early evening on their luxury yachts, a truly wonderful place to watch the sun set or take in a local water polo match.

Trebinje is a historic walled Ottoman town on the river. During the summer months it offers a welcome break from the heat of the sun as it is nestled in the mountain and the piazza, with an abundance of cafes and restaurants, is tree lined. In the evening the bars are alive with live music and local musicians, a really happening place and wonderfully cheap too.

We can also recommend Vukoje winery, they offer a short tour and dinner in their restaurant that overlooks the town, beautiful in the evening.

The ruined castle at Ston makes an amazing back drop, whilst you enjoy freshly caught and prepared mussels served straight from the beds found there, and with the 'Arboretum' at Trsteno and the shade offered from the trees, a good place to stop on the way home.

Further afield traveling through the mountains you can easily reach The Fjords of Montenegro and drive along the spectacular coastline to Perast and Kotor. You can't come all this way and not find time to visit!

Those more adventurous can venture into the Bosnian / Montenegro mountains, to raft on the Neretva / Tara River. Details can be found in our brochure on arrival or we can book in advance for you.

An interesting 2 hr car journey takes you to the historic town of Mostar and its famous historic Ottoman bridge.

Some of our guests have taken a 2 center holiday and have flown into Split and then traveled the 3 hrs to join us, others have come from an island stay on Hvar, Brac or Korcula or combined a stay in Montenegro.

This beautiful unspoiled area has to be seen and offers family members or all ages and abilities an interesting and exciting holiday.

Gornji Brgat

We are situated away from the hustle and bustle of Dubrovnik's Old Town and coastline, nestled a short distance away, in the mountain which spreads into Bosnia and Herzegovina, giving you the best of both Countries. Yet just a 20 min drive from the airport and you can be relaxing by the pool.

We are a short drive from the beautiful beaches and restaurants found in Mlini and Srebreno, and a 20 min drive takes you to the sandy beaches of Moulinat and Slano.

There are beaches all along this beautiful, unspoiled coastline with many offering snorkeling, diving, wind surfing and canoeing and excursions to many of the Islands that the coast line boasts.

There are family beaches with promenades and children's play areas but there are also plenty of of quiet coves to be found, fishing villages to be explored. There really is something for everyone in the family.

From us Dubrovnik can be reached with a stunning a 15 min car journey, with photo opportunities found round every corner, or you could take a scenic ferry ride from Srebreno, even more beautiful taken at dusk or from us you can take a short drive to the top of the opposite mountain and take a panoramic ride in the cable car directly into the Old Town. A fantastic way to take photos of the Old Town as you approach!

Locally we have 2 village shops, within walking distance, offering basic provisions, with Lidl and Konsum supermarkets just 4 km away.

Traveling into Bosnia and Trebinje you will find a host of supermarkets, and a daily local market in the town's vibrant piazza. Here you can buy fresh fruit, veg and cheese, then head to the local butchers and bakery. With your provisions you can then sit in a tree covered cafe and enjoy your time with the locals and people watch.

Fresh home cooked food can be found in the local restaurant, just a short walk away or there are plenty of restaurants to be found along the coast.

We have provided a booklet with recommended restaurants from ourselves and guests that have stayed with us. We have also included days out, excursions etc. and how to find and where to park details.

Mili our property manager is on hand to help and has a wealth of local information. She is fluent in English and will help book excursions and restaurants.

When available Mili offers a baby sitting and taxi service.

“Lovely Apartment”

Reviewed 28 Sep 2015

We stopped at this apartment for a week in August, lovely views and very comfortable. A good base to visit both Bosnia and Croatia!

“Thank you for a wonderful holiday”

Reviewed 2 Jul 2015

Thank you to all the team for this wonderful , peaceful and diverse holiday. We ( myself husband and our fab neighbours) arrived from our home in Ibiza. Not quite sure what to to expect, especially as the apartments are in Bosnia, we were so pleasantly surprised , what a wonderful place . We found it difficult to tear ourselves way from the swimming pool with it's breath taking views & BBQ's on the terrace with the panorama changing to evening fairy lights in the valley. Mesmerising . We did manage to visit many of the wonderful historical sights, with the fishing village of Cavtat being one of our favourites. We even surprised our ageing bodies and took a tour of the city of Dubrovnik with a kayak!! - suggested in the visitors book in the apartment. But best of all was Trebinje in Bosnia, with its daily market and coffee and cake culture. The Piazza were buzzing day and night.and it was so cheap to eat out, half the price to that in Dubrovnik. The apartment suited us being on the ground floor and we loved our own comfy outdoor sofas. It was lovely and clean and was well equipped and the property manager greeted us with a huge smile and had a welcome platter of local meat and cheese waiting us. It was really appreciated. All in all one of our best holidays especially as we live in another of them!
