Description

Our property is ideally situated for all Goodwood events.

'Crockfords' has an attractive south facing walled garden with perennial borders and a patio with gas BBQ and outdoor dining area. There are other sheltered seating areas around the garden, and a driveway to the side of the property with ample parking for two/three cars.

The ground floor has two receptions rooms, both with French doors opening onto the outside patio area. There is a country style kitchen with modern appliances, with an open aspect leading into a dining room. Off the entrance lobby there is a utility room and toilet/shower room. The cosy sitting room features an ingle nook stove and an original timber-framed wall. The second reception/television room also has a log-burning stove.

Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms. The main bedroom has a king sized double bed with en-suite shower room and toilet. The two remaining bedrooms have twin 3' single beds, sharing an upstairs family bathroom and downstairs shower room.

The village of Halnaker has a pub serving excellent food, and a working forge. Behind the property is are public footpaths over farmland and the award winning Tinwood Estate vineyard. These lead to the village of Boxgrove with its well-stocked village shop and priory ruins. There are a number of walks and cycle rides direct from the cottage into the South Downs National Park and to the coast.

“A truly beautiful home away from home”

My adult daughter and I currently live far further apart than we would ever wish so we were looking for a holiday rental in the glorious English countryside where we could spend some relaxing quality time together (whatever the weather!). Luckily for us we found the perfect location: we chose Crockfords which is a very well-equipped property offering all the comfort and cosiness we could have wished for. It was great to stay so conveniently close to Chichester, with its history, shopping and restaurants, while being able also to enjoy many long walks through the local area directly from the property. Driving north through the beautiful rolling hills of the South Downs en route to such charming local villages as Petworth & Chiddingfold was also a bonus for us. Above all it was the delightful garden that gave us enormous pleasure and made it incredibly difficult for us to leave. All in all this was without a doubt the best holiday rental we’ve ever experienced.

“Home from home”

Great location and beautiful garden. Very well equipped kitchen and bbq. Enjoyed the little extras like welcome pack, soap and shower gel. The library offered a cosy place to relax and the array of books was very much appreciated. The enclosed garden offered a safe place for my 2 dogs to lounge in the sunshine.

“Beautiful cottage lovely area”

We stayed in Crockfords over Easter and had lovely time. The cottage and garden are beautiful. The cottage has been renovated to a very high standard. There is plenty of space for a large family and the design is homely. The touches of having shower gel, washing powder etc for our use was much appreciated as with the welcome pack. It is perfect for taking dogs as the utility can be closed off the garden is fully secured and there is a lovely walk around the vineyard at the back of the cottage. In the nearby area: Chichester is a short drive, the beaches in west wittering are lovely and quiet, Brighton is about an hours drive.

This fabulous cottage is indeed a home from home, everything you could want and more! A child and dog secure garden, beautifully tended. Good quality everything...beds comfortable. Perfect location for Goodwood events, plenty of walks and public footpaths We will return for sure You won't be disappointed
