Due to the Covid-19 situation, our accommodation will be well-stocked with hand sanitiser, disposable gloves (on request), disinfecting wipes and anti-bacterial cleaning supplies for the use of our guests, to give peace of mind during your stay.

Built in 1875, the Old Vicarage is a Grade II listed granite-built house set in approx 1.5 acres of gardens. The self contained wing is recently converted and offers the period charm of an old house but with modern facilities The property is situated in the small village of Godolphin Cross (1 mile from Godolphin House - National Trust) in the heart of the Cornish countryside, approx 3 miles from Helston. There is a choice of local shops and several large supermarkets in Helston. The property is only a few miles from both the North and South Coasts with the Lizard, St. Ives, Penzance, St. Michaels Mount, Praa Sands and Porthleven all within 20-30 minutes drive. The location is ideal for hikers, cyclists, surfers and kayakers or those simply wishing to take advantage of the superb local restaurants, beaches and scenery.The property itself is ideal for a relaxing holiday or long weekend with every luxury and modern convenience supplied. The living/dining room is spacious but cosy with underfloor heating and a wood-burning stove. It is tastefully furnished with large comfortable sofas (one of which converts to a double sofa bed so two extra guests can be accommodated) and decorated with original art.The kitchen is particularly well-equipped for those wishing to cook 'proper' meals supplied with all the usual pots and pans plus plenty of work surfaces.Upstairs are 2 double bedrooms each with a fully-tiled en-suite shower room. The bedrooms are warm and cosy with sloping ceilings but with plenty of room for a double wardrobe, large chest of drawers and bedside tables. Outside, guests have their own patio with table and chairs, swing seat and a firepit and are welcome to wander around the gardens. We also provide a BBQ with the necessary tools, please provide your own charcoal.

Getting around

The easiest way to explore this part of Cornwall is by car. Buses stop in the village every 2 hours from 08.07 and run to Helston and Camborne.

Interaction with guest

Due to the Covid-19 situation, we will leave the door to your accommodation unlocked with the key inside. At some point we will drop round to make sure you have settled in and are happy with everything. We provide a guidebook which gives general information about your stay (e.g. how to use the remote control, where to put bin bags, etc.) as well as the history of The Old Vicarage and recommendations for places to visit and dine. We are always available to resolve any issues and to give ideas for things to do, to ensure that you get the most from your stay.

We (myself, my wife and two teenage daughters) stayed for a week in August and thought it was fabulous. It has everything you need and is decorated and furnished to a very high standard. The two en suite bedrooms are superb, kitchen is great and has a large tv with full surround sound in the living room. The grounds are also spacious, well kept and we enjoyed the barbeque. A fabulous place I highly recommend!

Stayed here for one week and that wasn't long enough! We have stayed at many holiday homes but this was the first that we were asked, before we arrived, what our preference was for a welcome pack. Such a wonderful and thoughtful gesture. The attention to detail in the house is fantastic and really has that personal touch. A very spacious property and the TV with surround sound system warrants special mention - how we miss that now that we're home! Everything is provided for you from a well stocked kitchen, wonderful comfortable beds with very spacious en suite and a beautiful garden with bbq. Great location for visiting West Cornwall and all the sites. Thank you Debbie, Paul and family, this is truly a home from home in a beautiful part of the world.

What a place, never stayed in such a well thought out, well specified and immaculate self catering place. The quality inside and out including the location are simply amazing! How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Debbie (the owner) a message.

If Debbie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
