Godney is part of the Levels & Moors, deep in the heart of Somerset; an ancient and fragile landscape steeped in history, archaeology and wildlife. It is central to four National Nature Reserves in a wetland area of international importance and is part of the National Cycle Network. Examples of wildlife commonly seen in the area include buzzards, roe deer, lapwings, grey herons, barn owls, egrets, kingfishers, swallows, starlings by the million (seriously), otters and nesting swans. This spot is great for festivals and many cultural events in the area (see below). We have big sunsets, dark, starry skies, and barn owls in the garden at night!
