Description from owner

Description

Clifftop Cottage is bright and airy with sweeping sea views from every main room. Newly built in the traditional Greek style, the holiday home features open timber ceilings, two large balconies and a fully-equipped kitchen.

The balcony to the west overlooks sunset and Skiathos, is shady during the day and is fitted with a dining table and chairs for four. The south-facing sun terrace look out over some of the most breath-taking views in the Aegean and comes with sun loungers and an outside shower to make the most of the warm Greek summer days. The property feels secluded and peaceful, yet is within 10 minutes walk of charming Glossa village, with its tavernas, restaurants, shops, public transport links and friendly locals.

The cottage consists of living room with pull-down sofa (and optional additional bed), main bedroom with double bed, two wardrobes and French doors, large bathroom and a separate, very well equipped kitchen (we know what it's like to be in need of a cheese grater or bottle opener when self-catering on holiday so have created the perfect home-from-home kitchen!)

The living room is equipped with satellite TV, with a range of English-language films, sport and news channels, and integral DVD player, as well as a selection of board games. Free wireless internet access is available in the cottage.

There's a washing machine in Clifftop Cottage, an iron and ironing board for those evenings out, as well as beach towels, a cool box and snorkles and masks provided to make the most of long lazy days on the beach.

Getting around

A bus service runs from Loutraki, the port of Glossa, which is a five minute drive or 20-30 minute walk - depending on whether you're going up or down the hill! This bus connects to Skopelos town, stopping at all the main beaches on the south coast of the island. The service is regular and reliable during the summer months and many visitors rely on this service exclusively, however a car is useful to explore the hidden coves, quiet hills and isolated monasteries dotted throughout the island.

Interaction with guest

We are a family-run business. Jo and Roger live onsite and Ella their eldest daughter handles bookings online. We arrange for a taxi to pick you up from your ferry and bring you up to the village. Either Jo or Roger will meet you and show you around the cottage. We are always available to answer any questions, phone a taxi, or print a ticket! Our home and office are on the same property. Otherwise we find our guests like their peace and privacy and we like to respect that. We have a small library of books and DVDs for you to come and borrow.

“Best view in the Aegean !”

Reviewed 7 May 2017

The views from Clifftop Cottage are simply stunning and dominate every room. From the terrace the tree clad hillside below sweeps down to the Aegean providing a mesmerizing panoramic vista that is hard to drag yourself away from. The Cottage provides most comfortable accommodation which has been very thoughtfully designed to provide for every need. Jo and Roger are extremely thoughtful and generous hosts. Their approach is a skilled and highly successful balance of respect for visitors privacy alongside a willingness to share their insiders knowledge of this beautiful island [ including encouraging guests to explore their delightful garden ]. Skopelos was awash with Spring flowers during our stay and Glossa is a truly delightful village. This holiday exceeded our expectations in all aspects !

Owner's reply: Thanks so much for your review Wendy and the great description of the view! We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at Clifftop and you're always welcome back! Jo, Roger and Ella
