Description

For your holiday whether its for one, two or more people this villa with its incredible views, comfort and location will be hard to beat. Villa Eleonora is named after the falcons that swoop over its elevated position above the unspoiled hill village of Glossa (only 10 minutes away with its shops and tavernas). Its secluded location feels private, despite its proximity to the beaches, the port, the Mamma Mia church and the village itself, and the villa is not overlooked by anything but the beautiful birds and wildlife. The views are truly staggering, taking in the islands of Evia, Skiathos and the Pelion, and away to the mainland as far as Mt Parnassus and closer to home down to the village of Glossa and its port of Loutraki The villa itself is built by hand in the traditional style of the island, with open-beamed ceilings of chestnut and pine, wooden balconies and tiled roofs, complemented by a modern clean touch and up-to-date fittings and equipment. It is a truly unforgettable experience.

There are plenty of outside spaces, verandahs, terraces , tables, seating areas and a barbecue to enjoy and eat alfresco in the wonderful climate of this Greek Island paradise.

The pool enjoys a private and ample lounging area, wooden cushioned pool furniture, stunning views and it is gated off for child safety. The pool itself is 8m x4m with marble steps and night lights.

The villa is in a perfect location as a base for exploring the island and the island itself offers perfect mountain biking, walking, bird watching and sea kayaking opportunities which can be arranged prior to your arrival as well as guided tours and trips.

Coast/Beach: Our nearest swimming beach is a ten minute drive from the house. It is a sheltered, sandy, clean and safe beach. This beach adjoins the village and is therefore close to amenities such as shops, and tavernas. There are scores of small, quiet beaches in the area that are ideal for bathing and picnics to be found on both sides of the island as close as ten minutes from the house.

Location description from owner

The Sporades region

Skopelos island is the largest of three islands that make up the Northern Sporades, which are situated north of Evia.

Skopelos is largely unspoilt by tourism and it has much to offer all visitors. It is known to the Greeks as a green island with clear waters and great natural beauty.

As well as many beaches, coves and tavernas the island has a lot more to offer. It has a history which transcends the neolithic period, Greek mythology, Roman and Byzantine eras and to the present day.

There is also the strong Greek culture which has stood the test of time and is apparent every where here. The island produces many local foods, including smoke dried prunes, wines, Tsiporou, nuts, fruit and vegetables.

In terms of holiday activities the island is beginning to promote eco friendly activities to take advantage of its suitable topography and marine areas. These include mountain biking hire and tours, there is terrain here suitable for beginners and more experienced riders.

There is also sea kayaking, walking and birdwatching opportunities.

All islands interconnect easily in the summer enabling all three to be visited without difficulty, due to the numerous hydrofoils and ferries operating daily.

Glossa

Glossa, Loutraki and Skopelos Island

“AMAZING VILLA, POOL, VIEW AND ACCOMMODATION THAT EXCEEDS ALL EXPECTATIONS!”

Reviewed 30 Jun 2015

We stayed for a week in June. Shane the host (as many have said) is excellent and has a sound knowledge of the island...helped us with car hire, our luggage from the ferry and lots of other recommendations. The villa has a secluded location but is close enough to all the major beaches and the pretty town of Glossa and not far from the Mamma Mia beaches and sites. Fully equipped is an understatement and every possible anticipated need has been provided. It really did feel so comfortable and everyone was able to relax in it's surroundings. The grounds and villa were meticulously maintained and kept clean throughout our stay. There was a gas station and supermarket very close by and the restaurants in Glossa were so reasonable for the quality and quantity of food served. Greek hospitality is amazing anyway and we rented a boat for a day's sailing (18 of us on board) which was a highlight. Shopping in Skopelos town was fun. A car is recommended although in the evenings, we found getting to and from places with taxis also very easy. We went Diving and Shane also had some great paddle board tours on offer. The island is beautiful - we will return and will return to this villa!

“Mama mia”

Reviewed 27 Mar 2014

The producers of Mama Mia definetly got it right when choose Skopolos to make their movie. The island is absolutly stunning and Villa Eleonorae seemed the perfest place to marvel at its beauty. We spend hours relaxing while enjoying the view from the pool and the terrace a bit higher up. The villa is located in the perfect direction to watch the sun go down. The guest house is build according to the local architecture, is very functional and was spotless when we arrived. Shane, the owner, even offers padlle boarding. We took a lesson and really enjoyed it. So, yes we will be back.

“Perfect Villa on a Perfect Island”

Reviewed 8 Jul 2013

We loved every minute of our stay in this villa. Shane was the perfect host. He was attentive and helpful but not in any way intrusive. The villa is amazing. It is so secluded! The view is breathtaking and changes every hour or two.The villa has everything you should need to cater for your stay. Shane has paid real attention to detail. We really couldnt fault the villa in any way. The island is quiet and just a real dream. The restaurants are amazing and great value. I would suggest a jeep for your stay as some of the roads are quite challenging. We stayed here on our own and had the most fabulous romantic week.We loved every minute, so much so that we paid our deposit for next year before we left the island! Next year we are staying for two weeks and bringing our family over for the second week.

“stunning views, quiet, warm climate, great walking area!”

the guesthouse has all the comfort you wish to have, the host is friendly and atent, gives advise for trips and places to go. good place for people who like it quiet within nature but not far away from teh mainroad, the villages and acess to ferry and other public transport.

“A most blissful place to relax and soak up Skopelos”

Reviewed 4 Sep 2012

Villa Eleonora is an absolute delight. Located high above the village of Glossa it has to most incredible views across to Skiathos and beyond. A view which you never tire of! Our visit this year was our second and the whole family loved our stay. It is such a well equipped house where everything is just as it should be. A far cry from many rental properties we have visited over the years.... Shane is a wonderful host who is on hand to help with anything required. The location of the villa near Glossa couldn't be any better with plenty of wonderful beaches within easy reach (Kastani became a family favourite). The family run local village shop has everything you need, while the bakery next door is nothing short of incredible. There are plenty of places to eat within very easy reach from the smart, yet pricey, Agnanti, the friendly bbq restaurant in the town square and the delicious and relaxed cafe in the centre of the town serving excellent pittas. All in all a wonderful place to visit.

“The most amazing villa with views that take your breath away.”

Reviewed 28 Jul 2012

We have just had a wonderful holiday in Skopelos staying at the truly magical villa Eleanora. The villa exceeded all our expectations. Set in a peaceful and rural location about 5 minutes drive from the beautiful town of Glossa, the villa was extremely comfortable, with wonderful spaces and rooms both inside and outside. The view from the verandah was magical. Having stayed in many great properties around Europe, this was definitely the best to date. We couldn't fault this place and would highly recommend others to enjoy this perfect base for a really great greek island holiday.
