Smiddy Cottage is situated in a stunning location on the hillside above the River Blackwater in Glenshee, Perthshire, on the boundary of the Cairngorms National Park.

Surrounded by mountains, hills, forests and moorland, across the Glen from the distinctive Mount Blair, Smiddy Cottage is in the perfect location to explore the magnificent Scottish countryside including the Cairngorms National Park, Royal Deeside, Pitlochry, Blair Atholl & Highland Perthshire, Glamis Castle and the Angus Glens, Scone Palace and Perth, St Andrew's and the Fife coast.

The A93, "The Royal Road" is the highest A-Road in the UK and connects the market town of Blairgowrie with Royal Deeside and onto Speyside. The scenery of the lower glen is very much associated with hill farming and throughout the year you will see sheep and cattle dotted over the hillsides. In the late summer the hills and moors take a purple hue as the heather comes into flower. This is also the ideal time to try your hand at salmon fishing on the Shee Water, River Blackwater, River Ericht or the famous River Tay. The area is also very popular for fieldsports.

The cottage is approximately 20 minutes drive from the Glenshee Ski Centre.

Very Good

“Cosy, pet-friendly and great surroundings.”

Reviewed 26 Oct 2018

The cottage was very easy to find. Owners left clear instructions and made it feel homely from the start with the added bonus of some home made scones on arrival! Great for the dog to run about the garden and despite being a terrier he never managed to find a way to escape! Inside the cottage was clean, cosy and homely. Hot tub was perfect also! Would highly recommend.
