Description

Glenlivet View offers comfortable accommodation in this beautiful part of the Highlands. Sitting in a quiet, rural location in Speyside, close to the Cairngorms National Park, the peace and tranquility allow for a get-away-from it-all holiday, enjoying the scenery and abundant wildlife. Or, for a more energetic stay, there are numerous cycle trails and walks, ideal fishing locations, many golf courses and the nearby Cairngorm and Lecht winter sports centres.

For those interested in history, there are several castles in the area and of course, no shortage of distilleries to visit on the whisky trail. The beautiful Moray coast is a short drive away (you may well see the dolphins)

“Quiet & Chilled”

Reviewed 20 Oct 2018

We booked this back in July for the school holidays. The lodge was clean and tidy. The lodge has freesat & DVD player so if you plan on staying take some DVD’s with you. Mobile coverage is terrible and we had to leave our phones on the back bedroom window to get some signal. Maybe some form of paid mobile WiFi would be better. Also some condiments would be great, cooking oil, pepper etc. I would have given 5 stars had the lodge had a few more things. If you need any essentials you have Dufftown & Grantown with Coops. If you want a get away from it break then book this lodge.

Owner's reply: Thank you for taking the time to write a review - we’re so pleased you were able to relax and enjoy your break. We don’t provide WiFi at present as the speed is so slow it’s not worth having! There are plans for this to improve so hopefully we will be able to offer this in the future. We will take on-board the comments about condiments although as a self-catering property we feel it may not be appropriate. We do however provide salt and pepper and a welcome pack of bread, butter, tea, coffee, milk and sugar. We also supply a selection of dvds plus board games so guests can relax without having to leave the lodge. Thanks again for your review and for visiting Glenlivet View.

“Perfect long weekend break”

Reviewed 12 Apr 2018

Glenlivet View was the perfect accommodation for our long weekend. Ideal location for The Glenlivet 10k. Accommodation was cosy, lovely decor, bread, butter and milk provided which was a lovely touch. Views on the veranda were stunning. My daughter loved playing in the garden. Ideal place if you want to get away from it all. Would definitely stay again. Would give it 10/10, wish we had booked for 4 nights instead of 3.

“Great location with a splendid view!”

We had a short but nice stay at the lodge. It is well equiped and cosy. The surroundings are beautiful, very wild, it's really a change of scene!

“Stars and sunsets”

Reviewed 26 Sep 2017

I was lucky enough to go to the lodge with my friends, and could have stayed much longer! The cosy, yet spacious accommodation is well equipped and tastefully fitted, and the peace and quiet was a much needed tonic. The view from the terrace stopped me in my tracks, the fast-changing sunsets were your actual awesome, and I'd forgotten how many stars there are... isn't the Milky Way beautiful? Would recommend it Susan

Owner's reply: Thank you for such a lovely and eloquent review and for your custom.

“Relaxing, peaceful stay”

Reviewed 23 Sep 2017

Thanks for the excellent accommodation. It was cosy and peaceful and everything was in the order we would have expected. Amazing views and sunsets and the chalet was easy to keep warm when we needed it to. Apologies - I burnt toast and set off the smoke alarm one of the evenings! If we were looking for a similarly restful holiday, we would definitely consider returning again - many thanks.

Had an awesomely relaxing time. No hassle, clean and tidy, everything you need and more. If you want to chill and enjoy the view from the sofa then this is perfect. Alison gave us great pre arrival info and was very helpful. I expect I will go back!

Owner's reply: Thanks for taking the time to review your stay. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back again.

“Get away from it all at a luxury log cabin with gorgeous views!”

Reviewed 14 Sep 2016

We had an absolutely wonderful few days at the lodge. It really is getting away from it all, and I think having no wifi really helps with being able to enjoy the peace and tranquility! We drove up to the cairngorm reindeer centre and the steam railway at bridge of garten-which were both fantastic days out! The lodge is 4* with a well kittens out kitchen. We enjoyed sitting on the veranda with our beers watching the sun set!

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review - I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you come back again!

“Cosy Cottage in beautiful landscape”

Reviewed 12 Sep 2016

The Glenlivet view lodge is located a few miles north of the Cairngorms Nationalpark. It is a good startingpoint for visiting the many destilleries at Speyside and going for hiking in the Nationalpark. What is missing a bit is, that there is no direct access to a circuitwalk close by reachable by foot. Which means you have to go to all activities by car or bike. But due to this fact the sorroundings of the lodge is very quite. The Lodge is very well equipped even some boardgames are provided!

Owner's reply: Thank you for taking the time to submit a review - I'm so pleased you had a good trip.

“Fantastic”

Reviewed 4 Sep 2016

Beautiful lodge, tastefully decorated and more than adequately equipped. Every detail thought off, will definitely be back. Surrounding area superb, the cairn gorm national park..glen livit estate..lots of castles and cathedral..lochs..beaches, what's not to love!

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review - I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. Alison

“Peace and tranquility in lovely surroundings”

Reviewed 6 May 2015

We stayed here for three days in late August, and loved it. The area is completely peaceful, with no disturbance from neighbouring cottages or the world outside. The cottage is small but well-appointed, with cosy bedrooms and a well-provided kitchen. It is kept in immaculate condition and stayed warm during bad weather. The living room has a large picture window with beautiful views of the Cairngorms (and some local wildlife), and a deck outside for summer evenings. Definitely recommended for a short break or as a base for visiting the nearby area.
