The Scotland region

Perth and Kinross is a very scenic area with much to see and do, including the main towns of Perth and Stirling where historic buildings such as Scone Palace, Stirling Castle and Banockburn can be visited to make your day more memorable. Blair Drummond Safari Park makes a great day out where you can see the fabulous wildlife. You could also enjoy a short sail at Loch Katrine taking in some of the regions most spectacular scenery. Whisky is an important industry in the region, with mainly fine distilleries in the surrounding area. 2 pubs within walking distance which serve great food (Kirkstyle Inn and Dunning Hotel), occasional live music at the Dunning Hotel.

Gleneagles

Dunning has the Dupplin Stone now housed in St Serf’s Church, Dunning, Perthshire, this masterpiece of Christian sculpture once stood as a key feature of the Pictish royal palace at Forteviot. Among the elaborate carvings on all four faces are armed men, hunting dogs and the biblical King David playing the harp. A much-eroded inscription in Latin relates to the powerful Pictish king Constantín.

Auchterarder is 4 miles away and is known as the "lang toun" or long town, a name derived from its extended high street which runs for over a mile and eventually links with the neighbouring village of Aberuthven. This is the longest main street in Scotland.

There are 22 golf courses within a 20 mile radius with the prestigious Gleneagles hotel 5 miles away.

Th Ochil hills are nearby and suitable walks can be found around this area.

“Beautiful 2 bedroom lodge in stunning location.”

Reviewed 9 Aug 2016

This 2 bedroom lodge is gorgeous. Beautifully decorated throughout and with little surprises like a cosy study room and extra utility, useful for drying wet outer clothes! Kitchen has ample utensils and a full sized dishwasher and fridge freezer. Living and dining room is comfortably furnished and stunning views over loch. Lovely patio area overlooking loch which is a lovely peaceful retreat! Lindsay the owner could not have been more helpful and went above and beyond to accommodate us and keep us updated every step of the way!

“An Absolute Delight... Ssshhh ... Keep it Secret!!”

A beautifully presented cosy comfortable home from home!! Restful and peaceful looking out on the lochan. Well equipped and welcoming. Fishing for brown trout an added bonus. Enjoy the sunshine on the enclosed patio as the fish rise!! We loved our stay. We'd love to go back .....so.... don't tell anyone!!

“Fantastic lodge and great location”

Reviewed 6 Mar 2016

Had a brilliant stay here, close to two pubs and a village shop, lakeside location was wonderful. Fantastic large windows on the lodge look directly onto the lake, and a very high standard of furnishings and fittings inside the lodge. A wonderful place to relax and get away from it all.

“Brand new Lodge”

Reviewed 10 Jun 2014

Myself and my wife were the first to use this Lodge it was excellent. Location is close to the famous Gleneagles golf course. It is a great base for visiting the scenery of Bonnie Scotland. You can get the local bus to Perth bus station were you can jump on a bus to Highlands and other interesting places to visit.
