Awarded by our guests in 2018 as one of the top ten best high end rentals in the world....Little Upton Bridge Threshing Barn provides a superb location for a family or a group of friends to holiday or celebrate. With a total of 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms as well as 2 kitchens and lounges each with their own wood burners the barn has lots of space to be together but also to find some quiet time. The barns are located in the countryside with a deck and covered private hot tub where you can relax or watch the local wildlife, or maybe amble along the footpaths to one of the 3 pubs all serving fantastic food, beer and cider. The main barn has 4 bedrooms a huge lounge large enough for the whole group and a double height kitchen where everyone can sit down to eat. The Apple barn which is a stones throw away provides another 2 bedrooms and shower room with own lounge and kitchen, Outside there is a fully enclosed heated swimming pool (May to Sept up to 28 degrees) located in a walled garden with a croquet lawn (April to October). Your private hot tub and sauna are located in a covered area with an open end and views across the countryside and there is an outside games area with table tennis, football goal and a covered games area with table football and snooker.

Getting around

There are buses to local towns such as Taunton, Street, Wells and Yeovil. You can walk to the local village with shop and pub and there are lots of footpaths from the house.

Interaction with guest

We welcome you when you arrive and are always available if you need us. But if you don't need us then you wont see us. We check the hot tubs and pool discretely several times a day to make sure they are always in tip top condition.We have a partner company, Tobooka, that can help you plan and organise your stay, from catering to activities , a trip to the pub or pampering. whatever you would like to do.

“Great place for a family break”

We booked this cottage for a family group of 4 couples. It is ideal as there is plenty of choice of bed types (twins/doubles/kings) and a huge seating area in the living room. So many properties have space to sleep large groups but not space to lounge around comfortably in the evenings. This had plenty of space. The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes,crockery and utensils etc. Everything we needed was there. All the extra facilities such as pool, hot tub, sauna etc just added to it to give us a very special weekend. It's in a lovely area with plenty to see but we didn't really explore as we had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend where we were. Gill, the owner, was very welcoming when we arrived and communication with her was excellent beforehand too. She answered any questions promptly and helpfully. The cake left for our arrival was a really nice touch and went down well! We would definitely return and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property for anyone wanting to relax and enjoy a break somewhere beautiful.

Owner's reply: I am sorry that you had a few concerns with your stay but glad you appreciated the huge living room and kitchen. Most guests love the upstairs bedroom for its quirkiness with the high ceilings and rafters. There is at least 2 ft on each side of the bed which is a large 6 ft bed. I am sorry about the sheet and will mention this to our housekeepers , if we had known we would have come and changed it. Its a good point about the kettle and I will see if I can upgrade it to a larger one. Some of the beds are zip and link so they either make 2 singles or a large 6 ft bed, this allows us to configure the house to specific guest needs vs just having a set bedroom configuration. On the Apple barn there are 2 forms of heating, an air to air heater and a 12KW wood burner and we have never been told it wasn't warm before so I can only guess that you maybe didn't turn them both on.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Gill (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
