Awarded by our guests in 2018 as one of the top ten best high end rentals in the world....Little Upton Bridge Threshing Barn provides a superb location for a family or a group of friends to holiday or celebrate. With a total of 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms as well as 2 kitchens and lounges each with their own wood burners the barn has lots of space to be together but also to find some quiet time. The barns are located in the countryside with a deck and covered private hot tub where you can relax or watch the local wildlife, or maybe amble along the footpaths to one of the 3 pubs all serving fantastic food, beer and cider. The main barn has 4 bedrooms a huge lounge large enough for the whole group and a double height kitchen where everyone can sit down to eat. The Apple barn which is a stones throw away provides another 2 bedrooms and shower room with own lounge and kitchen, Outside there is a fully enclosed heated swimming pool (May to Sept up to 28 degrees) located in a walled garden with a croquet lawn (April to October). Your private hot tub and sauna are located in a covered area with an open end and views across the countryside and there is an outside games area with table tennis, football goal and a covered games area with table football and snooker.

Getting around

There are buses to local towns such as Taunton, Street, Wells and Yeovil. You can walk to the local village with shop and pub and there are lots of footpaths from the house.

We welcome you when you arrive and are always available if you need us. But if you don't need us then you wont see us. We check the hot tubs and pool discretely several times a day to make sure they are always in tip top condition.We have a partner company, Tobooka, that can help you plan and organise your stay, from catering to activities , a trip to the pub or pampering. whatever you would like to do.

“Perfect house and lovely break”

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Threshing barn. A very warm welcome and a lovely touch with homemade cake awaiting us. The barn is gorgeous and lots of space and the hot tub was amazing! Gill and family helped us with a cot query and it was quickly sorted. We also ate at the lime kiln inn delicious homemade food. Would recommend xx

As the group of us are getting closer to our 30s, and with life taking over from fun, it's always difficult to get everyone together in once place. Little Upton was a great opportunity to do this. The property is fantastic with the addition of a hot tub, a large communal area and kitchen and with pubs within walking distance. We would definitely go again.

“Outstanding stay at Threshing Barn”

Threshing barn is such a excellent place to stay we celebrated Easter here with two other families we all had our own space and the lounge and kitchen area is spacious and very well equipped for large groups, the children ages ranged from 10 to 16 they were all very happy in the games room and outside space with football nets and table tennis. The sleeping arrangements worked well with one family staying in Apple barn but we used all the facilities in Threshing Barn. The beds were extremely comfortable and all the washing and toilet facilities were very clean and modern. The hot tub was used daily and was a real bonus, we plan to visit again in the summer months to experience the use of the outdoor heated pool. The Barn is situated right next to fields and quiet lanes so we were able to walk our dog safely and enjoyed walks each day especially to a little pub called the halfway house. We had treatment from the local beautician Gemma from rural beauty which was very relaxing and worth the money such a lovely professional person and accommodating to our requirements. A visit to the Lime Kiln pub is definitely worth a visit we would advise to phone and book but such friendly service and accommodating to our large group. Such a lovely place will be booking again Thank you Gill for the welcome pack too.

Very comfortable accommodation, very well equipped especially in the kitchen, every pot, pan, casserole dish you could wish for. The hot tub was excellent and the younger members of the party loved the bar football and snooker table, beds very comfortable and log fires welcome on the chilly evenings. Highly recommend especially for a summer trip as the pool looked lovely. Booked a table at Lime Kiln inn - had a separate room food excellent and great value for money. Visited Glastonbury Abbey - well worth a trip and of course walked up to the Tor - beautiful views

The accommodation was in a good location with plenty to see in the area and decent amenities close by. The barn was well kitted out and Gill had thought of everything (even a pizza cutter!) There were 12 of us in our party and we really enjoyed our time here.

We were a large group staying in the Threshing Barn and Apple Cottage. Facilities were great, plenty of space for all of us to get together and eat/sit around in the Threshing Barn. Bedrooms comfortable and plenty of bathrooms. Lovely fenced private gardens and the hot tub was great! Would love to return in the summer when the outside pool is open and you can get more use of the games facilities outside. With 2 toddlers it was good to have the kitchen gate and door on the hallway so no steps to worry about. 2 dishwashers in the big house very helpful with so many people. Good places to eat and walk nearby - ideal! Owner Gill very helpful.

A group of 8 stayed for the weekend at Little Upton Barn for a reunion. The facilities were fantastic and provided the perfect setting for a relaxing and enjoyable weekend. Gill was wonderful and helpful throughout our stay and I would recommend a stay here very highly. We will be visiting again!

“Perfect Country House”

Enjoyed the best weekend here! The house is gorgeous with a spacious lounge and kitchen with plenty of room for everyone. There was no need to go out as the hot tub, sauna and board games (Charades in particular!) kept us very entertained. As it was self contained we didn't feel like we were disturbing anyone and it was clean with all the facilities you would need. Would definitely return if we get the chance!

this house is amazing. Large but still warm. The hot tub is a bit small for the amount of rooms/people that you can have (4 person maximum) but the house itself is brilliant. Will definitely book again.

Owner's reply: Glad you had a great stay and would love to see you come back again. Sorry you Found the tub a little small, it is a normal size 7ft square one which are marketed to take six people although we recommend four so as to not over stress it! It's very hard to get anything larger that can be emptied and refilled and heated between guests, we have done lots of research and not found anywhere using larger ones...which suggests it can't be done. We have tried to provide parallel entertainment with all the games and the six person sauna so there is lots for everyone to do. We will be opening a new house soon which will have a full spa hot tub, sauna and also a steam room so maybe you might like to book that next time. Should be ready from June.

We have just come back from a lovely break staying in the Threshing and Apple Barns. In total there were 7 adults, 2 children, 2 toddlers and 1 baby and we all fitted in perfectly! The Threshing Barn had plenty of space for the kids to play and a lovely big table for us all to eat together at. The play barn and space outside was an added bonus and kept the little ones happy - it was just a shame that we all forgot our swim stuff for the hot tub! Hopefully next time we will remember them!
