Garnethill is a friendly, interesting and bohemian neighbourhood with a lot going on. There's the Glasgow School of Art, the Centre for Contemporary Art (CCA), the National Trust Tenement House, the GFT independent cinema, the Piping Centre, music venues, bars and restaurants all within the surrounding neighbourhood, and the Wee Curry Shop on Buccleuch Street serves some of the best curry in town! The house is in a quiet spot just tucked away from the crowds which makes it a perfect base for exploring. Cowcaddens underground is just around the corner giving easy transport links to the rest of the city. Glasgow is a good city for walking and it's all easy to get to from Garnethill. The West End is around 15 minutes away, and the River Kelvin walkway and Forth and Clyde canal paths are nearby. The main city centre shopping streets, Sauchiehall Street and Buchanan Street, are only 5-10 minutes walk and the Merchant City is a 20 minute stroll downtown.

“Excellent Facility”

Reviewed 9 Aug 2015

The property accommodated our needs excellently and to the max, that of requiring a central Glasgow location with parking for two cars to unload for a wedding but delivered much more. Not just in the capacity of the living area to accommodate the gathering of the extended family of both parties for a pre wedding get together but the functionality and quality was second to none in all of the rooms throughout. The owners were very accommodating and we know we could not have found a better all round facility to cater for the many different preparations we undertook with ease at this central location; most especially the ease of access from two dedicated car parking spaces.

Owner's reply: Excellent review - thankyou! We are so glad you enjoyed the house and managed to get all your preparations done for the wedding. Hope you'll visit again sometime in the future.

“Great location”

Reviewed 21 Jul 2015

Perfect for our needs, the house is just minutes walk to main shopping streets and the Scottish Conservatoirre where my son was attending a course. The hous itself is well furnished, has a great layout with bedrooms and bathrooms downstairs. We liked the open plan living and kitchen which meant that there was lots of natural light coming in. Highly recommended.

Owner's reply: Thanks for your great review, glad the house suited your needs, hope you'll visit again sometime.

“Great location, great townhouse”

Reviewed 18 Jul 2015

At first we were delighted to find that we had a private parking space outside our front door. Our second impression was upon opening the door to a modern, clean, beautifully appointed two bedroom, two bath house. Anne and Gordon were there to greet us and show us the amenities. The kitchen is very spacious and includes all the implements for cooking a wonderful meal and has a great washer/dryer. The living room has a large screen tv and the room has lots of light. There is also a private outdoor area. Anne and Gordon had stocked many tourists phamplets with information on every sight you may wish to see in the Glasgow area as well as many maps. They were both extremely helpful with sightseeing, dining and shopping suggestions. The place is within walking distance to many shops and sights in the downtown area and the subway is one block away. We will definitely stay here when we next visit Glasgow!

Owner's reply: Thanks for your excellent review, glad you enjoyed your visit, please come again anytime.

“Great Apartment”

Reviewed 30 Mar 2015

This is a great apartment and we enjoyed staying there during the Glasgow Short Film Festival. There was more then enough space to relax and to prepare our event at the festival.

Owner's reply: We are glad you enjoyed your visit, thanks for sending your review, come again anytime!

“Excellent house in the centre of Glasgow”

Reviewed 23 Nov 2014

The house is well-located in the centre of Glasgow. Given the residential parking permit requirement for the area, it is fortunate that the house has off-street parking for 2 cars. The house itself is warm and comfortable. The kitchen is large and fully equipped, the lounge boasts a 42" flat screen tv and Virgin cable. The owners even added a DVD player at our request. Both bedrooms are a good size and each has its own bathroom. In summary - modern, clean and comfortable with very helpful owners. Highly recommended.

Owner's reply: Thanks for your lovely review, we are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you will visit again sometime.

“Perfect for a city centre break.”

Reviewed 21 Nov 2014

We stayed here while visiting my daughter who is at Glasgow University. The house could not have been in a better position, so close to the centre and all it's wonderful attractions and Glasgow's fantastic shops! The subway is moments away so it is very easy to get around, my daughter was able to stay with us and get to and from uni very easily. The house is beautifully presented, so clean, with everything you could need. It is very quiet given its central location. We will definitely be staying again very soon.

Owner's reply: Thankyou for a great review, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again soon.

“Great townhouse in the Heart of Glasgow”

Reviewed 12 Aug 2014

After navigating the one way streets that surround the house we were able to find the house and the owners waiting for us. Upon meeting the owners I knew I had made the right choice to booking this rental. They were friendly, helpful and answered any questions we had. They left us with the keys and the feeling that the house was our home away from home. The location of the house was probably my favorite feature. We were next to a park and a few minutes walk from the train station. We were within walking distance of great shops and restaurants. We walked pretty much everywhere in Glasgow and never felt that we were far from the house. it was a great home base. It took minutes to get on the dual carriageway or any other motorway you would need. The amenities were great, two great bedrooms, a nice kitchen and a cozy living room made this house feel like home. Having our own parking space was great since we rented a car for our trip. Never having to worry about parking was a relief! Overall this was a great rental and I would highly recommend it to any one wanting to stay in Glasgow.

Owner's reply: Thankyou for your great review!

“Home away from home in heart of the city”

Reviewed 2 Jun 2014

If you're looking for a home away from home in the heart of Glasgow this is the place for you! This town house has everything you need in terms of comfort, privacy and convenience. I was looking for somewhere warm and inviting for our short visit to Glasgow where we were catching up with friends and family and a little sight seeing, and we found it right here. The owner, Anne, was waiting on arrival to hand over keys and ensure that everything was in order. She also gave us great tips and local insights on Glasgow which we followed and enjoyed greatly. Garnethill is a quiet residential area just a block away from the hustle and bustle of city centre. Within a short walk you can be in the city, at the bus, underground or train stops for local links, chips and curry one way, great restaurants, bars and cafés the other. We love this city and when we come back I'll be booking this townhouse again. Thanks Anne. We enjoyed living like locals.

Owner's reply: thank you for your warmhearted review . we hope to welcome you again sometime.
