The Giza Governorate region
The apartment is located in Giza, a suburb of Cairo. Giza is famous for the Pyramids and Sphinx but there are a multitude of other things to see and do in the wonderful city of Cairo such as visit the bustling Khan El-Khalili Market, the Citadel, Mosques such as the Mohammed Ali and Al Ahzar, and Coptic Cairo. El Azhar Park, which is a beautifully landscaped park,a favourite with tourists, is also nearby. You will literally be spoiled for choice!
Annual High / Low Daytime Temperatures in Cairo: 34°C / 18°C (93°F / 64°F)
Average Daily January Temperature in Cairo : 18ºC / 64ºF
Average Daily June Temperature in Cairo: 34ºC / 93ºF
You can relax in Giza yet still have easy access to the main attractions, such as the Pyramids and Sphinx. The Step Pyramids at Sakkara & Memphis are just a short car ride away. A driver is available for tours in a modern air conditioned car or, if you would prefer to experience the public transport system, there is both a Metro station, linking many other areas of this great city, and a mainline station to take you further afield. (http://www.johomaps.com/af/egypt/cairo/cairometro_bil.html).
You can visit the Egyptian Museum in Central Cairo where many Pharonic artefacts are on show. The new Cairo Museum, due to open in 2013, is within 5 minutes walking distance of the apartment. The Pharonic Village is a wonderful place to visit, especially for children. The Citadel, which housed Egyptian rulers for some 700 years is also a spectacular sight.
You cannot visit Cairo without a trip to the famous 14th century Khan El-Khalili Bazaar. Brush up on your haggling skills and get a real bargain or why not experience a trip on the River Nile in a felucca. So romantic!
The apartment is also not too far from the churches of Old Cairo (Coptic Cairo). and the Pharonic Village.
If you plan to travel further afield, Fayoum Oasis, which is of great cultural interest being the area where the Mummy Paintings were first discovered, is within close proximity to Giza being just 40 minutes by car.
Alexandria, an ancient and enigmatic city is a 3 hour drive or just over 2 hours by express train from Ramsis Railway Station. Don't forget to sample the fish there!! There is so much to see and do in Cairo itself however, you may just not find the time!
Not far from the apartment are pharmacies, ATM/Banks restaurants, Giza Train Station, Giza Zoo and Dandy Mall, a large shopping centre.

"Good value & location"
The person managing the property is a local (Mohammad)& can drive you around Cairo. For us this was helpful as he gave us insider tips & backgrounds to sites we were going to visit.

"A home from home!"
The service I received when booking the apartment was fantastic. Rochelle made sure we had everything we needed and was always prompt with responding to any enquiries. The property itself really did feel like a home from home! As I had booked the holiday for my parents, my sister and I, I was reassured to see that my parents felt right at home in the apartment. The spectacular views of the pyramids added to the whole experience! On the whole, the apartment was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Mohamed was always available to take us sightseeing and absorb the Egyptian culture. It was refreshing to learn so much in such a short space of time. Mohamed was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of advice and tips during our stay. As other visitors to the apartment have already commented, his day rates are very reasonable. In the 5 days we were there, we managed to see the pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, visit Cairo museum, visit the river Nile, visit Dhahshur, Saqqara and Memphis; watch a Sufi dance and do plenty of shopping too! The location is perfect if you want peace and quiet. I can't recommend this apartment enough.

This large and comfortable apartment has amazing views of the pyramids. It was great to be able to cook and to wash our clothes. It was in a quiet location away from the madness of Cairo. Be sure to use the services of caretaker Mo as your driver/guide - he is very helpful, has inside knowledge of the sights and will take you to buy delicious local food at local prices. Try the Somali sweets!

"Great Experience at the Pyramids Dream Come True Apartment"
I thoroughly enjoyed Egypt and the flat! The flat is beautiful, and the views were incredible. Rochelle, the owner, made everything easy for me. I'm usually not so scatterbrained, but I was completely disorganized and flustered this trip. Thanks, though, to Rochelle and Mohmed, everything from internet to phones to sight-seeing and driver service was made effortless and painless. Hopefully, I'll be able to return soon and in a more organized fashion!

"To sit on the balcony and see the 3 pyramids is really a dream come true"
The apartment is comfortable, cool and well equiped. Away from the madness of downtown Cairo this apartment is truly a treasure. For anyone concerned about self catering, the jewel in the crown is Mohammed who will see to your evey need. For those like me who prefer the privacy of an apartment I would say don't hesitate. This place is great.
