The apartment is in the heart of the Jewish Quarter of Girona, Catalonia's most extensive and best-preserved Call (medieval Jewish quarter) where you will enjoy visiting the most important historic places, wich constitute a powerful reason for visiting north Catalonia's largest city, Girona
Until 1492 Girona ( The Roman Gerunda) was home to Catalonia's second-most important medieval Jewish community (after Barcelona), and its Jewish quarter, the Call, was centred on Carrer de la Força, the same street where tha apartment is located. For an idea of medieval Jewish life and culture, visit the Museu d'Història dels Jueus de Girona just next door
Just stepping out of the apartment you will find in few meters the Cathedral , the most important museums, and very good restaurants as " El Celler de Can Roca" which has been voted the world´s best restaurant
This mansion was built by the famous architect Rafael Masó. who was one of the most renowned Catalan architects of the early twentieth century.
Masó was born in Girona in a conservative family, Catholic, Catalan and illustrated. The cultured literary and artistic interests led by his father, and the love of the city and its traditions, marked personality and future career of architect. Admirer of Antoni Gaudi in Barcelona during their studies Masó joined the group of artists and writers that would create an alternative to modernism, namely the Noucentism. The civic attitude, the Catalan, and character who advocated modernization and European Noucentism did that Masó also distinguished as poet, urban, political, and promoter of art and literature
.As a gift, I give all my guests two tickets to visit the ¨Casa Masó" where the famous architect lived.
The House Masó is the birthplace of Rafael Maso (1880-1935), one of the most important works of architecture and is open to the public only from the famous riverside houses in Girona. The house has been preserved with the furniture and the decoration of the nineteenth-century era, and offers unprecedented views of the city.

This 57-km route crosses three regions and twelve towns, following the valleys of the Fluvià, Brugent and Ter rivers. The Narrow-Gauge Railway Route descends smoothly from Olot (440 m) to Girona (70 m). Its highest point is at Coll d´en Bas, which is a pass situated 558 metres above sea level. The trail, which is suitable for hikers and cyclists alike, is in very good condition, fitted with bridges, railings and signposting.
The Narrow-Gauge Railway Route crosses through magnificent scenery of great ecological and cultural value. It begins in the Garrotxa Volcanic Area, and following the old narrow-gauge railway line, reaches the Ter valley and the pasturelands of Salt and Girona. T
