Description

This villa is in the southern part of Umbria which is known for excellent local food and wines and the kindness and warmth of the locals. I was attracted to this area because of its outstanding natural beauty and calmness. At the same time it is not isolated and easily accessbile from Rome.

A car is highly recommended to reach the historic nearby towns of Amelia 5 miles, or the better known Orvieto 23 miles, Todi 38 miles or even Assisi 40 miles. With a bit more driving but still within range for a day trip are the Tuscan jewels of Siena and Florence.

The closest shops for basic needs (cash machine, groceries, butcher, newsagent, bar, pharmacy, walk-in doctor surgery, hardware store) are all within a mile. with many more only 4-6 miles away. The proximity to Rome makes a day trip by train to the capital (35 minute train ride from Orte) no problem at all.

“Fantastic villa at a fantastic price!”

Reviewed 24 Jan 2014

The pictures on the website does not do it justice! The living area and kitchen is big and really ideal for large groups of friends who want to hang out around the fireplace in the winter or sit on the veranda in the summer. The grounds are lovely and the basement recreation area is a very convenient alternative should you be unlucky to find yourself in bad weather. The surrounding area is equally lovely and Amelia, Giove and Bomarzo are all a short drive away and really worth visiting. We had a really lovely time here and cannot recommend it enough!
