One of Baron Holidays flagship properties, the five villas, sit at the edge of a hamlet right out in rural Gozo, hidden away at the foot of one of the islands landmark hills. One can only get to them through narrow country lanes, past centuries old farmhouses and a small chapel still serving the old farming community.
Aesthetically constructed in beautiful local limestone, in the style of the surrounding houses, the villas blend perfectly with their rustic, serene neighbourhood.
Once inside however you’re back into the 21st century. The fully equipped kitchen, comfortable practical furniture, and air-conditioning throughout, makes for an easy to manage self catering holiday. Meanwhile flat screen TV’s (one in the living area and another in the master bedroom) with tens of cable and radio channels, a play station and a DVD player will while any unoccupied hours.
At the back of the property a private pool with a large patio complete with sun decks and a Bbq area gives on to miles of uninterrupted undulating valleys and spectacular sunsets.
Sleeping accommodation, consist of four bedrooms all with ensuite facilities, one of which (double bed) on the ground floor. The upper floor which is reached via a traditional stone staircase, consist of 2 ensuite bedrooms, (one double and 2 twin beds) and another bathroom in the hall way. Elegantly furnished, in neutral colours and with understated lighting, the good sized rooms are designed to complement the peaceful and laid back ambiance of the surrounding countryside. A spare toilet on the ground floor with washing facilities completes the accommodation.
The main feature of the property however is the swimming pool which winds its way into the living room from the large patio at the back of the property. Besides the luxury of indoor swimming, the sparkling reflection of the water gives a spectacular ambiance throughout the spacious open plan ground floor.
The indoor part of the pool is heated in the cooler months (mid October to end May) to allow the visitor the luxury of a swim, throughout the year. This, coupled with under floor heating throughout the property, and the built in fireplace, makes the property perfect for a romantic break even during the mild Gozo winters when, with its green terraced hills and long sunny periods, Gozo is never more beautiful.

The Island of Gozo region
Gozo forms part of the Maltese Archipelago and right in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea. Gozo's small size is deceptive and its rich history and unique landscape catches the inexperienced traveler by surprise. Inhabited since mythical times, Gozo's retains an aura of unblemished beauty, still largely un spoilt and accessible to all. The Islands history and past cultures are evident from its temples (thought to be the oldest standing structures in the world) and forts dotted around the countryside and along its shoreline. An old walled city dominates the centre of the island, high above its surrounding villages.
Terraced fields, bordered by miles of old rubble walls, slope down a myriad of hills and valleys, making the countryside an irresistible lure for ramblers, especially during the winter months when the island attains a green golden hue all round. Meanwhile the sea around its shores is crystal clear and the hidden rocky coves invite the snorklers with their safe bathing almost throughout the year
Gozo covers an area of 67.1 sq km and is some 50 miles distant south of Sicily. The main town is Victoria in the centre, with 14 village spread across the island. The three main fishing bays are Mgarr, which serves also as the ferry landing port, Marsalforn and Xlendi. But a multitude of coves and inlets abound along its coast, the best known of which is Dwejra in the west with its azure window carved out in the surrounding high cliffs by the battering winter seas. Its spectacular sunsets and the deep blue colour of the sea beneath is the stuff of legends and a haven of divers.
For its small size Gozo's all year round cultural life is amazing. Each town and village is renowned for its festas, with their spectacular fireworks displays and religions processions. These take place during the summer months, with one being held every weekend and villages compete with each other for the best put up 'show'. The Mediterranean Festival, comprising of a number of musical, theatrical and literary events, organised under the auspices of one of the band clubs of Victoria, is held around the months of November and December. In Victoria two opera houses put up two yearly productions each, one in spring and another in autumn. Meanwhile sport events are held in the Island's two main football grounds and at the Victoria Sports complex. For the younger set, the main night spot, Il-Grotta, a naturally hewn cave on the rocky edge overlooking a deep valley, is an all night venue where young people from all over the world mix and have a generally good time in a safe environment. Bars also abound in the main towns and bays. These also remain open well into the night with their open air tables giving a bohemian ambiance to the place. The Island's culinary trade has improved considerably over the years. From a beginning of a few eating places offering local basic dishes, which still survive today, a number of restaurants have sprung up. Now, one can also find international and themed fare, with some restaurants requiring bookings way in advance during the peak seasons due to their excellent service and food served.
Ghasri is a peaceful village situated on the western part of Gozo. From the village square, a road leads to the fabulous valley of Wied l-Ghasri which is 2.3km away from property. On the way, there is an old charming chapel dedicated to the Patronage of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Wied l-Ghasri area is a marvellous country walk or cycling site especially in Winter and Spring. The valley ends in the sea, wedged between high cliffs where a secluded little inlet makes it ideal for swimming, snorkelling and diving. Indeed, the sea around Wied l-Ghasri is very popular among divers.
Property is 4km from the nearest Dwejra Bay. The nearest Restaurant is 1km from property; Ta Salvina. Lighthouse supermarket is 1.2 km from property. The city centre Victoria is 3.5 km away where you can find Cafe's, Restaurants and a fish market.
The sea around its shores is crystal clear and the hidden rocky coves invite the snorkellers with their safe bathing almost throughout the year.
Should you fancy a day at the beach Ramla Bay with its unique honey-red sand is the largest and most popular beach on the island and can be reached by car in 10 minutes.
The feast of Ghasri is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month of June and is dedicated to Corpus Christi. For the feast the village is decorated and succumbs to a wonderful vibrancy.

October holiday with two children 10 and 13. Perfect location to explore Gozo from. Grace & Donald from Baron very helpful and friendly in sorting out activities and anything else needed by us. View from Villa brilliant, pool very good (water bit cold but that time of year I suppose) Villa was pretty perfect for us and we would definitely return to a Baron Villa in Gozo.

"Superb base to explore beautiful Gozo."
My wife and I had a wonderful stay at The Hamlet 3. The facilities at the villa and it's location on Gozo are fantastic. We enjoyed exploring the island and were happy that we could start some of our coastal walks straight from the villa. There is also a bus stop near the villa but the island is really not that big. The villa was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. We enjoyed having an indoor pool, having bbq's and being able to light a real fire in the lounge in the evenings. We also had a meal cooked for us in the villa by Chef George which was a superb end to our holiday.

"Exceeded Expectations. Owners: Professional & helpful. Hamlet: Gorgeous"
Baron Homes were brilliant. Helpful from start to end. Assisted in: - Providing extras for toddler: high chair, cot, car seat - Transfers to and from the airport - A supermarket shop (we arrived the day before a public and were concerned about reaching shops on time) - Arranging transport at short notice when stranded in town and couldn't procure a taxi (due to the public holiday) - Provided an excellent discreet and thorough maid service half-way through our stay The Hamlet itself was in a brilliant location with superb views. With 8 of us, we decided not to rent a car, a brilliant option as it turned out with regular (hourly) buses at close proximity to the Hamlet. The standard of the accommodation was fantastic, classic and comfortable. A small indoor heated pool kept the children entertained for hours. Better gym facilities, larger rooms and higher standard interior than expected. We had a brilliant time and are sure you will too, should you choose the same accommodation option.

"Excellent accommodation in a peaceful setting"
Hamlet 3 certainly lived up to expectations based on pictures viewed when booking. Throughout, the accommodation was spotlessly clean with plenty of good quality bath and pool towels (nice bonus that they were changed halfway through our week long stay), very spacious inside and out also with high standard kitchen equipment and lots of air conditioning (essential in August!). Would definitely recommend and would definitely return. Only minus - another umbrella to use with the outside table would be good.
