Rustic over 200 year old converted farmhouse in Gharb. South facing private pool (270x176 inches at widest point, depth from 41-88inches), with large deck area (including barbeque, table seating for 8), and a separate children's splash pool (103x58 inches, max depth 33 inches). This has an underwater seat (depth 16inches) along the inside, allowing one to cool down while enjoying a refreshing drink.

Superfast fibreoptic WiFi available via an internal network.

4 bedrooms (1 double and 3 twin), each with its own en suite bath/shower (1) or shower (3). 3 bedrooms are upstairs (all with a/c) and one downstairs. All also have fixed ceiling and movable fans. There is a cool central courtyard with a shaded area where there is a coffee table and 4 seats. The kitchen/dining room opens onto a large south facing deck and swimming pool. The master bedroom opens onto a terrace overlooking the pool and is perfect for catching the evening sun.

Gozo is quiet, small and safe. There are 5 restaurants and a couple of bars in Gharb, all within walking distance of the farmhouse, as well as restaurants in the 5 star Kempinski hotel. There is a well stocked supermarket 100m away and a bus stop within 5 minutes walk which can take you anywhere on the island. Within 15 minutes you can be at the seaside, including Xlendi and Marsalforn, both with numerous restaurants.

A small crafts village is 5 minutes walk away. The village of San Lawrenz is 10 minutes walk away. It has a further couple of restaurants. Dwejra and the Azure Window (including an excellent restaurant) are a 5 minute drive away.

The pool area has a number of sunbeds and a shaded area under the pergola for outside dining. The terrace from the master bedroom has two sunbeds and overlooks the pool area. Parking is available outside front door in cul de sac.

Dear Craig Thank you for your review. I apologise for the delay but I was only notified yesterday. I must admit to being slightly disappointed. As you know from our numerous emails (in one of which you said you were delighted with the house) whenever you raised an issue I sought to rectify it. Thus when a storm left debris in the pool I organised the pool man to come out. When you blocked the downstairs toilet I arranged for a plumber to fix it. That plumber could have looked into the persistent bad smell upstairs in the main ensuite that you mentioned. With respect to the noise overnight from a building across the road, that is unacceptable and illegal and a phone call to the police would have sorted it. I agree the fish seller comes once or twice a week early in the morning but that is the nature of village life in the heat in Southern Europe. Gozitans wake up early and go to bed early. Whilst the farmhouse is on a relatively busy street we are near a lot of facilities and one will unfortunately experience road noise virtually anywhere on the islands. We are currently installing double glazing in the main bedroom, although the main reason was to keep the heat out. Regarding the main bed, the mattress is of good quality changed 2 years ago. You mentioned the price. Unlike many farmhouses we do not charge extra for air conditioning and also pay the tourist tax ourselves. Thus i believe we provide good value as shown by virtually all the other reviews. There are a couple of other things you mentioned which we will look into as our wish is to constantly improve our guests experience. However I am saddened you did not enjoy your holiday as much as you were expecting to and I am sorry for that.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Nick (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
