$178 in bogus damage and tax claims
Oct 2016

On arrival, the owner told us we owed $28 in additional taxes above what the contract said on the Air B&B website and we were told we must pay that in cash. Our party of 5 rented all 3 rooms for … More

Owner's reply:
George, You first of all did not book through trip advisor or flip key. Airbnb has investigated you and found out one of your guest that stayed at my B&B did indeed break my shower mechanism. It was working properly upon your arrival. You were shown properly how to use the shower the hot and cold handles how to turn on and off shower. You knew that there was one bathroom and you were also were allowed to use the one down stairs if needed. You also got all three rooms for half price then the original price. There was paint from shoes worn in the house that was not claimed, you were asked not to eat in the beautiful bedrooms due to ants may visit so which potato chips on the floor were found in the room. You paying $60.00 for damages was a cheap price to pay. The rugs are high end expensive to clean. This is a high end B&B. Your family owning a Bed and Breakfast in Virginia you should know better. The state tax in Pennsylvania 6% for state and 5% for Adams County which totals 11% you have to pay this as the Guest. This is a hotel/Occupancy tax George. This was all explained to you in detail. You need to go after AirBNB for your charges. You read everything that AirBNB had you sign? I have to sign one too when I book AirBNB. Your brother in law that owns the B&B in Virginia called Manassas Junction Bed and Breakfast in Manassas in VA seem like nice folks although Mark was the one running downstairs saying he believed his wife broke something in the shower. Yes George something did break and it had to be repaired and if you read the contract in AirBNB you signed the paperwork and are help reliable for any damages and etc. George $60.00 I was paid by AirBNB for your damages to my property. I had to eat the rest. You are not welcome at my B&B, we keep a black list and you have been banned.
