Getting around

Directly in the village of Georgioúpolis starts a 15km fine and sandy beach, which stretches past the settlement Kavrós and Dramia almost up to the coastal town Réthymnon. The beach is accompanied in its length by the Main Road, which also runs from Chania by Réthymnon along the coast. Now, you can easily make the mistake and just say: no, so close to the busy road I do not want to swim! Logically! But as you stand on the very wide sand strip, the main road is not visible and there is no noise to hear. In many places along the beach there are taverns and beach bars with sufficient snacks and the associated standard equipment of sun loungers and parasols, and from time to time there is also a lifeguard tower to see.
