Crossing the paved runway, you can find left the garden and on your right "Aretousa" room. This guest room is detached, spacious with old wooden ceiling, double bed, a large sofa and wc-shower.Follow the paved entry, stone staircases leads you to a spacious courtyard surrounded by a garden with a stone fountain and in the main entrance of the house. The entrance leads to a large living room with sitting area, fireplace, library and dining room. Right as you cross the room and go under the stone arch, you will find a fully equipped kitchen with gas kitchen rings, oven, refrigerator with freezer, washing machine, toaster, coffee machine and all the kettles you might need to make your stay more comfortable. On the same floor there are two separate bedrooms, the "Aegean" with a big double bed, wooden floor and ceiling, private wc-shower, a large sofa bed and two windows overlooking the mountains and the sea. Also on the same floor there is "Erato" room with the old iron bed (restored), wooden ceiling and floor, an en suite wc-shower and a window with views to the sea.Wooden staircases lead from the living room of the first floor to the second floor and there you will find the "Renaissance" room. This is the largest room of all and can accommodate 4 people since it has a queen size bed and two big comfortable sofa beds. The room has a tiled uncovered ceiling to the naked eye inside the wooden infrastructure. Wooden floor, 2 windows with panoramic views of the mountains and the sea and wc with shower completes a spacious, comfortable and luxurious space. To go to the terrace you can do it from 2 different ways. From the courtyard on the first floor, stone staircase leads to the terrace or from in the house and following the same wooden stairs as to go to the ''Renaissance'' room. On the terrace there is an oven, a barbecue, a garden with lawn, a large swimming pool (40 m2 ) and a large space of 100 m2, part of which is covered for some shade for the sunny days. The view is spectacular since the guest house is located on the top of the hill. Wooden and metal tables, armchairs, loungers, sun umbrella are placed in the courtyards of the house for your convenience. Old jars with flowers and old tools of the owner take you to the past and how people used to leave then.

Location description from manager

The Chania Prefecture region

The Apokoronas extends from the foothills of the White Mountains north to the coast, in a wide plain with rolling hills. To the east, Cape Drapanon rises above the plain and extends out into the Sea of Crete. The area is very green and fertile, unusual for rocky Crete. The Kiliaris river, known in antiquity as 'Pyknos', runs through the region. Robert Pashley suggested that the name 'Apokoronas' came from the ancient city of Ippokoronas or Ippokoronion, also cited by Strabo. This city may have been located near modern Nipos, or on the site of the Venetian fortress, Castel Apicorono, on an outcrop between Kalyves and Almyrida. The major towns of Apokoronas are Vamos, Armenoi and Vryses, with police, municipal and utility offices as well as taverns and large churches; Kalyves, Almyrida and Georgioupoli are the largest beach resorts. Tourism and agriculture are the major local industries, with much construction and quarrying to satisfy the demands of many foreigners eager to buy or rent properties in what used to be beautiful and traditional villages. Gavalohori is among the more popular villages for foreign buyers, with a large amount of often low-quality building taking place. Many residents or workers in Chania also have homes in the area. Apokoronas was the location of much of the filming of the movie Zorba the Greek.

Georgioupolis

Georgioupolis, one of the most tourist destinations in Crete, Is situated on the northwest coast of the island, in the Almyros bay, between the cities of Chania and Rethymno. A group of villages built on the slopes of the White Mountains, on the Almyros river estuary and the shore that runs along the bay, amongst vineyards, olive groves and forests. The visitor here finds concentrated all the landscape features that give character to the island: the mountain and the plain, the river, the lake and the sea, wild nature and cultivated land. Landscapes of incomparable beauty, villages conserving the traditional Cretan element, but also residential zones of cosmopolitan atmosphere, nightlife, luxurious hotels with high-class services, and the ability of easy access to every place to the west of the island through the highway that links its major cities. Every summer, in Georgioupolis all the locals are devoted to provide services to the visitors: the famous Cretan hospitality finds here its true meaning. This is only one of the many reasons where thousands of visitors worldwide, return here full of nostalgia. Because the first word hospitality means to us, is the word Friendship.
