Description

The Old Stores is a high quality, Grade II listed, reverse level cottage, which sleeps 4 people. It has a a small, fully-enclosed courtyard garden with patio furniture, a BBQ and an outside tap to rinse off wetsuits and boards. A few minutes walk from the cottage there is a children's playground for your little ones and for slightly older visitors there is a basketball court and five aside football pitch. Georgeham is a beautiful Devon village central to many beaches, stunning countryside and numerous tourist attractions. The village has a Post Office, a shop and is home to two great pubs. The 17th century 'Rock Inn' is a beamed family pub serving the finest quality locally sourced food and whole-heartedly deserves it's approved rating in the 'Good Pub Guide' for its range of ales! The KIngs Arms also serves good food and often hosts live musicians. The village is also served by a mobile fish and chip van (Monday evening) and a Thai food van (Thursday evening). There is ample parking

Location description from owner

The Devon region

Much of the North Devon coast and countryside has been designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty. The area is famous for its high quality, clean, safe beaches with many having RNLI lifeguard patrols during the summer months. This region of Devon is recognised as a haven for surfers and boasts some of the best surf in Europe. The diversity of landscapes including moors, dunes, mud flats and cliff are home to a host of wildlife with opportunities to see a variety of birdlife as well as seals, dolphins, red deer and the famous Exmoor ponies. There is an extensive range of sport and leisure activities: walking, cycling, surfing, golf, bird watching, horse riding, water sports and fishing. The area is ideal for family holidays with loads to do for the kids no matter what the weather. Adults will enjoy experiencing the art, heritage and culture of North Devon.

Georgeham

This area is called the Golden Coast due to its beautiful sandy beaches and UNESCO designated biosphere dunes at Braunton Burrows. Georgeham is a quiet, picturesque village where Henry Williamson lived and wrote Tarka the Otter. It is central to the beaches at Croyde, Saunton, Putsborough and Woolacome, which was voted best UK beach in 2015 & 2016 (TripAdvisor Travelers choice survey). It is also conveniently situated for tourist attractions such as the village of Clovelly, Lynton and Lynmouth, National Trust and RHS properties, Atlantic Village outlet centre, The Big Sheep and the Milky Way. The National Cycle Route 27, which soon becomes the Tarka Trail, runs through the village and the South West Coastal Path passes close by. Nearby is bustling Croyde with its surfing beach and lively nightlife.
