"Peaceful setting among the vineyards"
What a lovely weekend we had visiting Chateau Claribes! Nestled in the quiet village of Claribes, population 10, we drank the award winning organic wines of the chateau and relaxed between canoe trips on the Dordogne. Helen & Nick were friendly and welcoming throughout our visit and full of recommendations and tips about the area. Helen even offered to shop for us before we arrived. Thanks to her suggestion to head to the market in Ste Foy la Grande, we enjoyed the best pain au chocolat we have ever tasted! Nick gave us an interesting & informative tour of the vineyards & winery followed by a tasting. The house was spotless with simple French chic decor and fully loaded with games & dvds. I wish we could have stayed longer!

"Homemade wine, sunset, vineyards - perfect!"
Recently renovated to a good standard, this accommodation offers lovely views over the vineyards to sit and relax over some of their home grown wine. It has 2 good size bedrooms and the bathrooms are really nice too. Helen and NIck are really welcoming and do everything possible to make your stay great. The property was really clean when we arrived and you don't need to do anything when you check out which is also great. Accomodation is well equipped but currently does not have a high chair (although I think they may buy one), TV/DVD, microwave or washing machine.
Hi. Thanks for taking the time to send your review comments. We bought a high chair, very similar to the one you recommended and it's been successfully used! Since your stay, we've installed a television and DVD/CD player. As well as the games, books and travel guides in the holiday house, visitors can also borrow DVDs from our extensive collection.

"Everything was perfect and so beautiful. Wish I was back there now."
Whilst visiting Gensac and St Emillion for a wedding weekend we booked Chateau de Claribes. From the moment we arrived we had such a warm welcome from Helen who owns the cottage and vineyard. We were immediately impressed as the surroundings were so peaceful and stunning (yet still very close to Gensac). The cottage was gorgeous, so clean and decorated in a modern french shabby chic style adorned with peonies and fresh roses from the garden. It also had a fantastic modern kitchen, which had everything (even a dishwasher!). Wine (from the vineyard) had also been left chilling in the fridge!! We had a baby of 5 months with us and I think he enjoyed his stay as much as us. The cot was so clean and comfy as the baby slept well all 3 nights! Overall the cottage was perfect and Helen was so kind taking us wine tasting and helping us with Taxi's. It was a perfect weekend.
