The Scotland region

Gelston

Our cottages are in a National Senic Area at the foot of Screel Hill close to the Solway coast and Castle Douglas an 18th-century market town now known as Scotland's Food Town is about 17 miles along the A75 west of Dumfries in Dumfries & Galloway. It has at least food-related 50 businesses including shops, groceries, restaurants and marts. Carlingwark Loch is a beautiful area of wildlife, family fun, and vistas. Two attractions especially worth noting are the NTS Threave Garden, House & Estate and Historic Scotland's Threave Castle sitting on the River Dee.
