The England region

Gateshead

Eaststone Cottage is set in a superb rural location, overlooking Whickham Golf Course and the Gibside Estate, once home to the Bowes-Lyon family and close to the Woodman's Arms Pub which has a lovely bar area with a log burning fire and a good family restaurant with fantastic views across the valley. Watch the region's famous Red Kites, which can regularly be seen from Eaststone Cottage as they soar over nearby Gibside Estate or even over the cottage.

During your stay, you could visit many popular local tourist attractions such as Hadrian's Wall, Durham Cathedral and Beamish Museum, the National Trust's Gibside and conversely, you are only minutes away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Minutes away from coast and countryside you can go from relaxing at the coast to soaking up world-class culture; from getting back in-touch with nature in our beautiful surrounding countryside to shopping 'till you drop at Europe's largest indoor shopping and leisure complex – the 'Metrocentre', you are sure to have an excellent time and not be stuck for something to do or see.
