Description from owner

Description

Gannet Cottage is a traditional fisherman's cottage with all mod-cons located in the Seatown area of Gardenstown, which is a conservation area, directly on the seafront in a stunning and quiet location of natural beauty. Fantastic sea views from inside the cottage. From your sofa watch the many birds on the seashore; try and spot the dolphins, or just watch the boats entering and leaving the harbour. The cottage has been upgraded but retains many of the original cottage's charm and character.

Traditional features like low ceilings; small steep staircase; bedroom door entered directly off the staircase etc are complimented by modern day luxuries like a wood burning stove; electric heating; WI-FI; wall mounted large flat screen television with freeview; Egyptian cotton bedding; viewing scope for keeping an eye on the wildlife; Bose bluetooth speaker; fully fitted dining kitchen; washing machine etc., etc.

Getting around

Arriving by car is the best way to see the area and give you the freedom of travelling where you wish, as bus services are limited. If flying in and renting a car Aberdeen is the busiest local airport (approx 1 hour) then Inverness (approx 2 hours).

We leave the keys for the cottage and give you a code to access them leaving you free to arrive at a time which suits you.

“Unforgettable stay”

Reviewed 17 Feb 2016

My daughter and I had a very pleasant time at Gannet Cottage. We enjoyed every moment of our trip. The cottage is comfortable, cosy and clean and is very well equipped. The views from the seaside window are stunning and every time you look outside you see different colours and enjoy a beautiful scenery. That was our favourite place to be. I already miss it! The owner was very friendly, helpful and easy to contact. You can walk and hike, visit castles and museums, distilleries or try to spot dolphins, seals or whales. The only drawback was that our trip to Scotland was too short. I highly recommend Gannet cottage.

“Lie back and relax”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2015

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Gannet and it just keeps drawing us back. Recent upgrades have enhanced the experience making the cottage even more welcoming. What could be better than sitting on the sea wall with a gin and tonic watching the sunset and passing the time with people passing by? Possibly only bettered by having a laugh at first timers trying to negotiate the "road" in front of the seafront cottages. If you want to chill, walk, cycle, golf or just spend time with friends or family on one of the many beaches in the area - then,Gannet,Gardenstown and the Moray coast are the places to choose. We'll be back on our next staycation - what more is there to say?
