The Tuscany region

Tuscany is located in central Italy and it is famous for both its beautiful and varied landscape and artistic heritage. Medieval villages, historical towns and castles, country abbeys and monasteries abound and then of course there is Florence, birthplace of Michelangelo, the city famous for its beautiful architecture and wonderful museums and art galleries. Tuscany is also famous for its many spas: Montecatini, Saturnia, Montepulciano, Monsummano and Bagno Vignoni, which offer relaxing holidays thanks to their thermal waters and well-equipped facilities for all types of treatments.

Gambassi Terme

Gambassi Terme is a small spa town near Florence which was first used by pilgrims in the medieval era. Its waters (known as waters of Pillo) are famous for their high mineral content being rich in sodium ions and ion hydrocarbon. Gambassi Terme is located in the valley of the river Elsa, and is midway between Siena and Florence, making it an ideal place to stay for visiting Tuscany.
