About Rosebud Cottage...

Situated on a hilltop with panoramic views overlooking the glorious Ayrshire countryside, Rosebud Cottage is the perfect place to relax, unwind and explore the beautiful area of South West Scotland and beyond. It sits within a family-run cattle and sheep farm and has all the modern facilities you need while still retaining the charm and character of a country cottage.

The detached cottage is built all on one level and can sleep up to 6 adults and 1 child (cot provided), making it ideal for families or groups of friends.

The semi-open plan, comfortable living area has huge windows so you can sit with your feet up and take in the open country views. Or you can snuggle up in front of the cosy wood-burner with a ‘wee dram’ of whisky and watch a DVD on the 32inch TV with Freeview and CD/DVD player (there’s also an iPod docking station).

The fully-fitted kitchen/diner has all ‘mod-cons’ you need during your stay; electric cooker, microwave, American-style fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Kitchen linen and essential cleaning products are also supplied.

There’s two bedrooms, a double with en-suite shower room and a twin-room, with the option for a further 2 guests on a comfortable sofa-bed in the living area. An additional bathroom means there’s no queuing when it’s time to wash or brush your teeth! Both bedrooms have built-in wardrobes and there's further sizeable storage cupboards in the hall, where you'll also find an iron and ironing board. All of the bed linen and towels are supplied and there's no need to pack a hairdryer as we have a travel size dryer in the cottage for our guests.

For those travelling with babies and small children, there is a full-size cot (cot bedding not supplied) and 'Mamas and Papas' high chair to help you travel a little lighter.

Outside you can relax – or play - in the enclosed gardens, complete with paved patio and garden furniture, and enjoy panoramic views over the Ayrshire countryside. As the Cottage is situated on a traditional 420 acre working farm, you’ll also be able to watch over our sheep and cattle in the surrounding fields from the elevated garden position. Plenty of parking is available immediately outside the cottage off the quiet country road and you certainly won’t need to worry about traffic noise or congestion during your stay (apart from the odd tractor!).

We love animals so well-behaved pets are always welcome at Rosebud Cottage.

Location description from owner

The East Ayrshire region

Rural Location with fantastic views over Ayrshire and the River Clyde to Isle of Arran and Kintyre.

Still close enough to Glasgow, about 20 miles, which is perfect for shopping, entertainment and dining.

Also close is the Ayrshire coastal towns of Ayr, Prestwick, Troon and Largs ideal for day trips.

Ayrshire is steeped in history from old churches to castles, and of course Robert Burns out national bard and lots of golf from Famous Turnberry to lots of pay as you go courses

Galston

The cottage is set on the south side of the Irvine Valley, once famous for its weaving and lace mills.

Three towns located in the Irvine Valley are Galston, Newmilns and Darvel where there are local craft shops and all the necessary amenities ie; bank, doctor, dentist, super markets, fuel etc

The Irvine Valley has been put on the map recently for it's wide range of country side walks, varying from quite country roads, woodland and river side. Many of which are right on the cottage doorstep or a short drive to.
