The Chestnuts is a lovely three bedroom barn conversion, all totally ground floor, situated in the quaint Devon village of Galmpton which is mid way between the South Devon coastal resorts of Paignton and Brixham. Galmpton has its own local shop for day to day needs and a popular local inn offering excellent food and local ales. The Chesnuts occupies a very large corner plot within a select residential development of similar conversions on the edge of the village, it has its own large and private mature rear garden which are a delight and provide a superb space for guests to relax, dine al fresco or while away the hours in a peaceful rural setting. Also situated very close by is the River Dart with its breath taking views plus a variety of fantastic walks, also nearby is the world famous Greenway House, the family home of Agatha Christie now run by the National Trust. The holiday accommodation is very spacious and modern and is ideal for a family or couples travelling together looking for a holiday base which is conveniently located to explore all the attractions that Devon has to offer. The owner will happily accept the four legged members of the family and the immediate area around Galmpton lends itself for great dog walking adventures.

we stayed at the chestnuts cottage for the second year running it is set in a beautifull quiet location but not too far from Torquay Paignton ,brixham and Dartmouth which we visit regularly the cottage is very large and cosy with an ample back garden which is well maintained it has had recent refurbishment to the ensuite and main bathroom I would recommend this property to anyone who likes holidaying in the Torbay region we will be back

"Great place"

The accommodation is centrally situated between Payton and Brixham, in a quiet location with lovely walks to the village and lake. The house is lovely and comfortable and offer spacious, dated and clean living areas. The garden is enclosed and a lovely area to play with the kids and dog. All appliances is in working order and the 3 shower rooms/bathrooms ensured all could be on time.... I would strongly recommend the Chestnuts to friend and family, as it serves as a home away from your own, while on holiday, that give you privacy and space. I will re-use this accommodation when ever in the area.
