Location description from owner

The Algarve region

Albufeira is an old fishing town with white-washed houses with distinctive Moorish chimneys are dotted everywhere. In spring the entire region is carpeted with white almond blossom. The Algarve has something to offer everyone, tempting golf courses on which international tournaments are played, superb tennis and riding, and every watersport you can think of. Walk through the busy local markets to choose from traditionally- made handicrafts such as matgrass baskets and rugs, beautiful hand-painted pottery and tiles, beaten copperware and intricate bobbin-lace. At night visit one of the many glittering casinos or clubs, or simply sit outside beneath the stars and sample some freshly-caught seafish. There is much, much more to the Algarve than sun and sea. You can discover the remains of Roman towns, admire cool tiled churches and explore narrow winding side streets. Faro, international gateway to the region, offers lively cafes, smart shops, cobblestoned streets and grand houses with wrought-iron balconies. In the Cidade Velha - Old Town - you can browse around the 13th Century Cathedral and Bishop's Palace.

Praia do Coelha is a 3 minute walk away. The beach is reached by wooden steps or a wooden ramp. The beach has a restaurant, toilets and is supervised during the bathing season. A very small cove that isn't overcrowded even in high season. May, June and September ideal for those that don't want it too hot. There are restaurants and bars in walking distance so no need for a car.

“Luxury villa in great location”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2016

Just returned from 10 days at Oasis 5 - group of 6 adults and 2 young children (3yrs and 10mths) We arrived at villa around 11am expecting to leave our luggage and go off for a while until we could check in properly. However, the owner Manfred greeted us on arrival and advised the villa was ready for meaning we could get straight in and relax! The villa is on 4 levels (lower level - 2 twin room both with en-suites both leading out onto back garden, ground floor - double room, family bathroom, lounge, diner, kitchen, utility, leading out to front garden with pool and also back garden, 2 further floors - both with double rooms with ensuites) Manfred was very accommodating, giving us a lift to larger supermarket to stock up on essentials, and arrived following morning with fresh croissants and pastries. He comes round most days to check everything is ok. Villa well stocked with everything you need (we did hire some bits so not sure if they are always avail) - washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, cot, z bed, 2 high chairs, stair gate (note - this does not fit against stairs as they're too wide so can only be used in bedroom doorways), kettle, toaster, oven, hob, microwave..... The pool is lovely and would def recommend paying for heating it as even then can feel a bit 'fresh' when you first get in! The beach is lovely - around 10min walk - accessible with buggy although you need to carry it down a few steps to get onto beach. Beach bar serving up snacks (proper meals served in restaurant area) drinks and ice creams as well as having wc. There's a variety of restaurants in walking distance (from 5-20mins) recommend O'marinaheiro, Jompra and Dom Diniz in particular. Scoobys is also great - does your standard English food (breakfast, lunch and dinner)and also has a play area with swings for the kids and a crazy golf course as well as swimming pool (and luggage store area if you've got a late flight on departure). There are several little supermarkets in the area (see on the map in villa) but only one probably close enough to walk back from with shopping - go down hill from villa and instead of taking turning for beach go over the little bridge and you walk through a holiday complex - keep following path round and you'll come to the shop. When booking ask them to give details of Antonio taxi company they are very reliable and reasonable (as well as having childrens car seats avail) We used them for airport transfers and had no problems - even phoned Manfred for us to let him know we were on our way. Would definitely recommend the villa and hope to return soon

Thank you for the review,we look forward to greeting you again. Tracy & Manfred.

“Luxurious home from home”

We had an amazing week at this villa.....the attention to detail of the accommodation left nothing to be desired from the fluffy white towels to the warm croissants the owner turned up with unexpectedly one morning!! There are plenty of bars/restaurants in walking distance as is the beach with a great beach bar/restaurant. We have already booked for 2 weeks next year....Loved it....Defiantly recommend this villa.

“Luxury, comfort and brilliant location - 5 * all round”

Reviewed 5 Aug 2014

We spent two weeks at Oasis and had a wonderfully relaxing holiday. The villa has all the amenities you could ask for - en-suite bathrooms to all the bedrooms, well equipped kitchen and laundry room, very comfortable sofas (teenagers wanted to bring them home!) and of course the pool and the lovely garden. The beds are very comfortable and everything was immaculate. I think my favourite part of the villa was the atrium - a perfect place to sit with a glass of chilled wine and read. The location is excellent, there are quite a few restaurants within walking distance - we liked Dom Diniz and the little restaurant down at the beach. The beach is lovely - a small cove but very beautiful and under 10 mins walk away. The track is a little bumpy in places but we took a 2 year old down in a pushchair, and she also managed to walk most of the way back from the beach. The shop in the Hapimag resort is brilliant for fresh bread and all the important basics like beer and Vinho Verde and is only a few minutes walk from the villa. For larger shopping trips, try Apolonia (a few mins drive away) or Continente at Algarve Shopping about 15 mins drive. We didn't hire a car so either got a taxi or Manfred would drop us at Apolonia. Manfred and Tracy went out of their way right from the start of the booking process and throughout the holiday, to ensure that everything was as perfect as possible. If you don't hire a car, they can recommend a very reliable taxi firm which will provide transport to and from the airport. As mentioned in other reviews, Manfred would often pop by with fresh pastries and to make sure that everything is OK. We loved it and will be returning in October - we can't wait.

Thank you for the lovely review....everyone wants those sofas !

“Even better than expected”

Reviewed 17 Jan 2014

We spent a week at the Oasis in August 2013. Total of 8 guests: 2 families, including 4 children aged 6-10. The villa very much lived up to our expectations. Some of the key things we felt made it so ideal were each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, the kitchen and living area is spacious, the window shutters provide excellent security for the kids rooms and the pool and garden were tranquil. 10 mins walk from the villa is a small beach that has a wonderful restaurant providing beautiful views over the ocean. We ate here first night, again during the week and liked it so much we had our last night there also. Despite having our own cars we took taxis into old town a few times and Guia the other evenings. Taxis are cheap and saves thehassle with parking, as well as alcohol. We had hire cars, so explored the local beaches during the daytimes. I think we went to 5 different beaches in 7 days. Each was gorgeous and safe for the kids. I spoke with a few other staying at one of the other villas who didn't have a car & do think it's highly recommended to get one. As well as what I mentioned it also made shopping etc far easier as well, which increased enjoyment of the overall holiday.

Thank you for the review Jez
