The house is built on the side of the hill and is set over several different levels, with several entrances. This produces a light, airy feel to the property. It was carefully restored by the owner who is an architect and who has maintained the original structure, while adding modern but comfortable design ideas to the internal furnishings.
When you arrive at the house, there is a covered loggia and an entrance door leading into a spacious living room with an open hearth fireplace and comfortable sofas. It was probably the farmhouse kitchen when the house was first built.
To the right of the fireplace, a door opens into a twin bedded room that is connected by a passageway to a bathroom with bathtub. Another door in the living room opens into a spacious twin bedded room with a large table. This bedroom also has a door to the passageway. These two bedrooms share the bathroom. There is also wardrobe space in the passageway.
A third door in the living room opens onto a landing with a door to a spacious double bedroom with a table and its own ensuite bathroom with bathtub. All the bathrooms in this property are spacious and designed to a very good standard.
From the landing two short flights of stairs lead down to a second smaller landing with a door to a spacious double bedroom with a sitting area and private, spacious bathroom with bathtub. A door in the bathroom opens into a wardrobe.
Down one more step from the second landing is the ground floor living room with fireplace and panoramic glass doors that open out to the side of the house. A door on the right of the living room remains closed (it is the door to the laundry room to which only the maid has access).
Also from the living room are internal glass doors that open onto a small landing with stairs leading down to the dining room. This landing and the stairs leading to the dining room do not have a handrail and are not suitable for small children.
The dining room is light and spacious and has two sets of glass doors on opposite sides of it that open outside to the east and to the west. These lead to a charming lawn with garden furniture. There is a barbecue here for guest use.
On one side of the dining room is a separate kitchen area. It is very well equipped and functional. The kitchen is complete with gas range, oven, dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer.

The house lies on a hillside and great effort has gone into ensuring it fits into the surrounding countryside and follows the natural curves of the hill. The position is beautiful and the house is surrounded by lawns that gently fade into the woods, offering delightful walks. The property is isolated, but it is within easy reach of the nearby towns.
There is a 6 x 12 m swimming pool, that is 60 meters from the house and on a lower level. The pool is exclusively for guest use. It operates with a special system of copper and silver filters that reduce the need for chlorine.
There are small patio areas for sitting and dining outside and a barbeque area with access from the dining/kitchen area.
Next to the pool is a building that remains closed. On a higher level above the house is a separate barn that the owners have also restored and that they reserve for their own use when they are present.
The Tuscany region
Beautiful Tuscany attracts visitors for many different reasons. For some its the fine art, for others its the extraordinary countryside and for others its simply to try the wonderful food and wine on offer throughout the region.
Other places of interest nearby are: San Gimignano, Montepulciano, Montalcino and Pienza.
Gaiole in Chianti
Chianti offers a unique landscape, with green, gentle hills covered with wide fields of vineyards and olive groves, small villages and characteristic stone buildings. The Chianti region is so beautiful that you will be inspired to take photograph after photograph as you explore the local area. Villa Caresina is located near Gaiole in Chianti (4 km) in the heart of the Chianti Classico wine production area.
This area is also famous for some beautiful, world-famous heritage sites dating back to the Middle Ages and the Renaissance period. Florence (62 km away) should not be missed, with its ancient churches and unique collections of art. Even closer, is the medieval city of Siena (29 km), home to one of the biggest piazzas in Italy and host of the infamous 'Il Palio' horserace.
Gaiole in Chianti is a small town which has shops, restaurants and facilities for all your needs. The property is secluded but it is within easy reach of the nearby towns, and from the house, one has beautiful views of other farmhouses in the distance. It is reached by a 500 m privatem, dirt road (not suitable for low vehicles) with a private gate that ensures privacy.
