“A perfect gite in a lovely setting”

Reviewed 14 Apr 2015

This is a lovely small house. It is exceptionally well laid out, and the fixtures and fittings are first class. It is in a beautiful setting, with a great deal of open space around, and a lovely games room filled with all sorts of fun things. The house is, what appears to be, quite modern – but it has a great deal of character, and has been very nicely decorated. The surrounding area is beautiful: small villages, fantastic countryside, and, a little further afield, some great Norman towns. Access is easy from the motorway, and catching a train to Paris is straight forward. All in all, a very nice place, and a wonderful area. All contact with the owner, and the local agent, was exemplary.

“The most perfect gite in Normandy”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2013

This is one of the most perfect gîtes in Normandy. The gîte is spacious, great kitchen (we only missed a normal coffee maker), very comfortable livingroom. The stairs upstairs has a stairgate!!! Very safe. The welcome basket with croissants, chocolate croissants and baguette was a very pleasant surprise. The garden is unbelievable spacious. The playshed is awesome for the children also the swings, the slideway and all the other outside playgear. There is so much to do in the area; Haras du Pin (if you like horses a must do!), Camembert, the great thuesday market in L'Aigle, the zoo in Lisieux and so on and so on. So if you are looking for a very nice, peacefull and spacious place for your holiday with lots to do in the area: don't look further this is thè place te stay!!!!

“excellent, well equipped gite in tranquil location”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2012

Arrived at the gite after a good journey from calais to be met by Sabrina the caretaker, who showed us around. We were left a welcome pack with bread, milk, jam etc which was most welcome. The gite is situated in a quiet location which was very peaceful and relaxing. nearest town is about 5 mins away and around 10 mins drive there is another village with bar, small shop, boulangerie, butcher, pub etc. L'Aigle Market on tuesdays is a must as it is very large. Omaha beach is 2 hrs away but worth the trip especially if you go there in the morning and then stop in Bayeux on the way home to see the tapestry. The gite has plenty of space for children to run around in and has a play area and a games room. I would highly recommend poppy gite and would like to return in the future.

“A wonderful family holiday in a beautiful tranquil location”

Reviewed 11 Jan 2012

When we arrived, which was evening time, we were greeted by the owners to ensure we had everything we needed. No request was too great. All the facilities you need in a self catering property are included. The property is situated in the countryside in a beautiful tranquil location, but it's only a short journey to attractions, supermarket and shopping centres. We chose a relaxing holiday, visiting a number of nearby attractions, and there was plenty to keep us all entertained, including a games room for the children. You could also choose to spend each day visiting attractions as there are plenty to see within a reasonable distance.

“Beautiful and relaxing surroundings, rural france at its best.....”

Reviewed 15 Sep 2011

What a wonderful relaxing break my husband and I had, the Gite is fabulous with all the comforts of home, the area is beautiful and perfect for exploring Normandy, although we will have to return again, as the temptation to stay in and relax with local bread, cheese and wine was too great! Steve and Shivena were on hand with some great advice on local restaurants (ask them for the details of a beautiful Vegetarian restaurant - gorgeous food) and places to visit, I would especially like to thank them for the welcome pack with the deilcious croissants and bread which was just what we needed after the journey down.
