This traditional Quinta in Funchal opens the door of this so well equipped apartment, surrounded by a fantastic outside area with beautiful blooming gardens.

Facing South the view over Funchal city, sea and harbour offers a unique scenery and the total privacy of the place assures you an unforgettable holiday as you can see through all our past reviews.

Connecting to the main entrance, a spacey bedroom with king sized bed 1.60 x 200 is beautifully decorated. A bathroom with jacuzzi for your comfort and a separated and well equipped kitchen with a lounge area where there is a very comfortable sofa bed for a 3rd person if necessary.

A laundry place with washing machine and ironing is there to make your life easier during your stay.

At Quinta do Bom Sucesso you will be offered with a large variety of biological products produced there, as vegetables, tea herbs and different kind of typical fruits from Madeira ; daily eggs from the Quinta for your breakfast are provided every day... All these products are exclusively for our guest`s use and can be picked up every day to prepare a fresh salad that goes so well with a barbecue while enjoying the view.

Overlooking the city, the location is great in a higher area above Funchal city but still in a walking distance from the center. Free parking is available at the place in case you have a car. Otherwise walking down to the center will take you close to 30 minutes, coming back we do recommend a taxi close to 6€, or the bus stop is right on our gate and we do provide a folder with daily schedules for regular buses.

The most of this apartment is right by the front door where you can enjoy a totally private outside area with deck chairs and sun umbrella. Also a table for your meals and a barbecue to enjoy leaving all fresco with Funchal city on your feet.

The owners Teresa and Abel are a fantastic and very helpful couple (without being intrusive) as you can read through all reviews. They are the only ones looking after the Quinta watering the gardens and feeding animals which live there as chicken, ducks, rabbits and so on....

Staying in a kind of a farm in Funchal nowadays is almost unthinkable making this Quinta a unique offer for self catering holidays, having a kind of country and city life experience all together.

Once you arrive at the Quinta from the Airport, either myself or my parents will show you the place around, the apartment, and hand you the keys. You will find that we´ve prepared everything for a small meal (bread, ham, cheese, butter, jam, coffee, tea, couple of beverage, a passion fruit pudding, fruits and vegetables, Madeira wine bottle and a honeycake). Since we live here, you´ll find us available most of the time. Nevertheless we are particularly carefull not to be intrusive and respect our guests privacy (you will realize during your stay that the rose gardens in front of the apartment will be exclusive for you). The apartment has tourist guides but we´ll help you anyway we can.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Edgar (the owner) a message.

If Edgar (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
