The Cambridgeshire region
Within the local south Cambridgeshire area, there are many leisure opportunities, among them countryside walks, cycling, golf, tennis and other social sports, gym or fitness classes and swimming.
Also family-friendly attractions and activities such as Linton Zoo, Wimpole Hall & Home Farm, Duxford Imperial War Museum, Fowlmere nature reserve. The nearby market towns of Saffron Walden, Bury St Edmunds, Ely and St Ives are all well worth a visit to soak up their history and beauty.
Just a short drive or bus ride away, Cambridge has a beautifully preserved city centre including the world renowned University college buildings, perhaps the most famous of which is Kings' College from whose magnificent Chapel the Christmas Eve carol service is broadcast each year.
Historically an important market town, there is still a daily market selling produce and everyday items as well as souvenirs, and quality crafts at the weekend. There are, of course, many familiar high street stores and designer names but also a choice of independent boutiques and gift shops to browse. Also a cultural centre, with theatres, art galleries, museums and cinemas.

"The perfect getaway"
I stayed here over the Easter weekend and couldn't have been more pleased! On arrival we noticed there were kitchen basics already there and a fresh fruit bowl which was a really thoughtful touch. The location was perfect as it is in the beautiful village of Fulbourn, 10/ 15 minutes away from the centre of Cambridge with great pubs and restaurant close by.
We’re delighted you had such an enjoyable visit and that The Stables met your full expectations. James

"LOVELY HIDEAWAY IN IDYLLIC LOCATION"
I stayed at the Stables in January and was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of furnishings and fittings. There was nothing lacking in either style or comfort. Equipped to a high standard and in such a peaceful setting I cannot think of anywhere I would rather stay when in the area. Fulbourne is typically English and has a great pub close by which serves good food and wines. Great location for walking and with golf only 15 minutes away The Stables are a great place to relax and unwind although I can imagine also a good place to work from if you need some space to think.
I'm delighted that everything met with your expectations. James
