“A delightful villa set in a picturesque and tranquil location”

Reviewed 21 Sep 2012

What a perfect start to the first week of our two resort holiday …… an absolutely delightful villa set in a picturesque and tranquil location! This charming original house has been thoughtfully transformed into an ideal holiday retreat with its modern décor and style. The owners have equipped it with everything you could require for your stay …… no rushing to the supermarket for the mosquito spray, toilet rolls or salt n pepper in this villa! Many thanks also to Mike and Penny who are there to offer their valuable services whether it’s to do with the villa or local information …..don’t miss the little yellow train to Mount Louis, not quite a ‘white-knuckle’ ride but certainly an experience! “Lovely country house with glorious mountain views”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2012

Our holiday experience from the start of the booking process Cathy was happy to answer any queries and I booked with complete confidence for a 2 week stay. We found the house easy to find with the directions and exactly as described on the website. Everywhere was clean including the barbecue which we made good use of even on our first evening having shopped on our way from Perpignan airport . A welcome pack of basics was provided as well which was a nice touch . Although Casa Nostra is in a peaceful area there are lots of interesting activities within a short drive if you can tear the family away from the pool . Villefranche de Conflent is very close and worth a visit but go in the morning as it is busy later in the day as it's a popular tourist spot. The hilltop town of Eus is lovely for lunch with a view and the food was very good with something for all ages . If you're shopping in Prades try to combine a trip to the market and go and see the church altar which is magnificent . Our favourite places to visit were the beach at Argeles north which was huge and sandy and clean and had lots of free parking. Avoid driving into Argeles sur Mer as the traffic is slow. We went twice to the Argeles Marenda beach and then drove down to Collioure and Port Vendres which were worth a visit . The adventure park at nearby Marquixanes was great fun for tree activities and tubing at which we all had a go . It's also nice to sit by the river or at the cafe if you are on camera duty or not feeling active! The Gorges of Carancas is spectacular and easy to park with various walks but sensible shoes are a must and I wouldn't take children under 8 . This was overall our best holiday of the last few years as there was so much to do and see but we could relax in peace at the house and pool in the perfect climate . Hot enough to swim but cool enough at night to sleep and the mosquito nets on the windows seemed to keep any insects at bay . I loved getting up in the morning and watching the sun rising over the mountains . Thanks for a great holiday !

“As good as being at home, but with stunning views!”

A very comfortable and pleasant experience. The villa was ample for 6 of us. The layout was ideal with the upstairs for my family and children, and downstairs for the grannies. The pool was a good size and despite a few days of rain, the mountain scenes make for a relaxed environment. I would recommend the caves, and a drive up into the mountain town verbet-les-bains, which is pretty. Avoid the park/zoo at Castille!! Unless you are very fit, the 2 mile hike up a mountain side to see goats was hard going in the heat. Although I cant fault the view at the end. The village of Fuilla has very limited resources, but only 3 miles down the road to the nearest bakery and village shop, just don't go during lunch time, they have traditional closing times.

“Beautiful villa- Perfect setting - Total relaxation”

Reviewed 25 Aug 2011

Have just spent a perfect two week holiday at Casa Nostra and returned home feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. The villa was furnished and equipped to an extremely high standard. Everything we wanted was there. The gardens were large with lots of seating and tables which was ideal for al fresco living. The views really were stunning and the villa was peaceful and tranquil. Lounging by the pool, surrounded by the most beautiful scenery was a fantastic way to relax. There were lots of lovely places to visit from the villa and the village of Fuilla wa delightful. The local bar/restaurant was friendly and welcoming and sold bread and croissants in the mornings. Heaven! If you're looking for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful villa, then Casa Nostra is the ideal choice!
