The Costa del Sol region is renowned for its long sunny days and has magnificent beaches and mountain views. Within the immediate vicinity there are numerous excellent golf courses, watersports, horseriding, theme parks, shopping centres, restaurants, one of the best zoos in Europe, a world class marina, a casino, and stunning mountain villages. Whatever your tastes, there is something for everyone.

For the more adventurous, the historical old town of Granada and the amazing Alhambra Palace is just a few hours drive away or you can go skiing in the Sierra Nevadas. Or visit the rock of Gibraltar, which is less than one and a half hour's drive, and see the famous barbary apes and pick up your duty free goods at rock bottom prices.

Fuengirola

The villa is in El Faro, well established and well run complex, which surrounds the lighthouse (El Faro is Spanish for "lighthouse"). It is a mile and a half from the centre of Fuengirola. There is a bus stop less than 5 minutes walk from the villa. Buses run every 20 minutes, in one direction to Fuengirola and to Marbella in the other.

The beach is again less than 5 min walk from the villa. There are 2 good fish restaurants on the beach. There are also a number of other restaurants as well as bars and shops within walking distance. There is free access to a swimming pool, which is for the exclusive use of the 19 villas on the complex.

The villa is ideal for a relaxing holiday, where you can dip in and out of the many attractions of the large resort of Fuengirola or as a base to enjoy the many excellent golf courses in vicinity.

While Fuengirola is vibrant and lively, mixed with the laid back atmosphere of the Mediterranean. It has no end of restaurants and bars to choose from, whatever your tastes, and with miles of golden sandy beaches, it is the perfect place to soak up those rays of sunshine. You can climb up to the remains of the Moorish castle of Sohail, or find somewhere to scuba dive, take a trip to find dolphins on a glass bottomed boat, or take the kids to the zoo or the waterpark. You can also shop in the weekly market on Tuesdays, a very popular market in the Costa del Sol.

10 minutes by car or a few stops on the train you can be in Benalmadena where you can enjoy Tivoli World - a "Disney Style" Amusement Park, take a cable car ride to the top of a mountain! or go to the ultra modern Marina area to see the Sea Life Aquarium and Selwo Marina (sealife outdoor Marina).

Fuengirola caters for all tastes and ages, you will never be hard pressed to find something to do, and if you want to explore further afield, you can get a day trip to Gibraltar, Morocco, the caves in Nerja, Marbella, Malaga (Picasso Museum), Mijas, and other places of interest! Come and soak up the sun.

“Fabulous”

I would highly recommend the villa. Large patio overlooking the sea suitable for sitting in the sun. Very secure and quiet at night. Only 5 minutes walk to the beach, major shopping centre 5 mins drive away. Restaurants and bars all close by. Bus stop all in walking distance. Will be returning next year if available

“Excellent House fantastic Location Beautiful Views”

We had a great 3 week holiday and we could not have asked for anything better the views from the terrace were absolutely amazing we were contacted by Dave the maintenance man the day after we arrived which gave us reassurance if we had any issues we knew where to go but we didn't have any great value for money

Had a pleasant stay over christmas the villa has lovely views out over the med and is right on the A7 highway however hardly any traffic noise. The property is on a nice development and 5 minutes walk to the beach and i guess 25 minutes to Fuengirola however we had a car.The restaurant at the end of the road was really nice we had christmas lunch very reasonably priced. We did not get much sun on the patio being december the sun a little low in summer i would imagine it would be on most of the day.The property is well equipped with everything you need

“A chilled out experience”

Reviewed 27 Sep 2012

A lovely clean villa located in a very quiet urbanisation with fantastic sea views. There are a couple of small bars and a well stocked supermarket a short walk away. There is a lovely pool exclusively for the residents and guests of the villas. Fuengirola is a short drive away so if the peace and quiet is not to your liking you can go there for bars, restaurants, clubs etc. If you want a holiday just chilling out in a peaceful location I would definitely recommend this property.

“Excellent!”

Reviewed 8 Sep 2012

Can only reiterate what previous reviewers have said. A lovely place to stay, and a very relaxing holiday. The patio/balcony area was particularly lovely, and we spent many an hour out there on the comfortable sunbeds, and playing cards at the table. Our youngish children (aged 10 and 12) enjoyed getting their daily dose of kiddies TV via the 'free' Sky channels, and we made use of the DVD player and surround sound with the many DVD's we brought with us. Worth pointing out that it is not necessary to bring the usual bag of travel adaptors, as there are more than enough already in the property! Also worth pointing out that, there are a steepish set of steps down to the property, so those with aching joints etc might have some difficulty. I hope Bill and Kathryn don't mind, I made use of their binoculars to admire the many passing offshore cruisers at close range! Oh, and we also made use of the beach umbrellas stored in the patio cabinet. Lots of goodies in there for use on the beach! Unlike many places we have stayed at, the shower was hot and powerful enough to make regular showers a pleasure. Always nice to cool down with a cold shower after a day in the sun! As others have said, the shared swimming pool was not busy. In fact we had sole use of it about 95% of the time! The pool was always clean, which is not always the case in some places we have been. Very enjoyable! There is a small supermarket within 2 minutes walk, and two local places to eat, of which the pick is the Dona Maria restaurant, next to the supermarket! Be warned, it is necessary to book for here, as it is very popular. There are many more restaurants at Playa Marina, which is 20 minutes walk away, with Chinese, Indian, Tex-Mex etc on offer. We can also recommend the bar/restaurant on the beach. The staff there made a fuss of our kids, and were very friendly. We didn't choose to hire a car, so were reliant on the bus service and taxi's. Our experience of the bus service was not good, with the timetable, as they say, being merely a 'guideline to services'. In the end we gave up, and made use of the local taxi services, which, despite warnings to the contrary, we found both reliable and friendly. We were a bit worried that the taxi to take us back to Malage Airport at 7am on a Sunday might not turn up, but it was there waiting at 6.45am! We were planning to do lots of excursions, but, what with the Sangria, the San Miguel, and the complete lack of motivation, we only made it as far as Calahonda, Fuengirola, Mijas, the Selwo Sea Life Centre at Benalmadena, the Telefonica cable car, and that was it. I have to admit to being jaded by Sea Life Centre;s having being dragged round them for years, but the dolphin 'show' was spectacular. I guess at the end of every holiday, you can best gauge your enjoyment by asking yourself the question "would I stay there again?". The answer would most certainly be a "yes"! Oh, and a "thank you" to Dave from "downstairs" for making sure she were looked after!

“What a find!”

Homely Villa was so easy to get to from the airport - 25 minutes, situated in a quiet residential area with a great beach 5 minutes walk away. The pool was absolutely fantastic for the children, we had it mainly to ourselves for the entire time and the people who lived around the complex are really friendly. The villa itself was really comfortable, air conditioned with a patio looking over the sea. A great location for exploring too - the main road between Malaga and Marbella is seconds away. 5 or 6 good restaurants within walking distance, a mini market and car hire shop is just round the corner.

“Ideal Small Family Villa”

Reviewed 23 Jul 2012

My spouse and our two teen girls thoroughly enjoyed our week at this lovely seaside villa. It is in a quiet community outside Fuengirola, which made it peaceful yet close enough to take the girls to the mall with only a 5 minute drive or to enjoy the truly outstanding local zoo as a family. The beach, also only a 5 minute walk down the hill, offers fine swimming and life-guard supervision. The villa has everything you need for a totally relaxing holiday. We particularly enjoyed the huge patio with ocean views and very comfortable deck lounges, as well as a good kitchen for those who love to cook at home. The English-speaking neighbors were also extremely helpful and friendly.

“A Wonderful Place to Stay”

Reviewed 23 Aug 2011

A really nice villa, with everything that you need, the picture of the sea on the photo doesn`t do it justice. The people there were very friendly and helpful. The shared pool was nice and clean and the few times that we used it, we had it to ourselfs, the local beach was easy to get to, it was clean with showers and lifeguards and the sea was easy to swim in and was safe for young children. The villa was perfectly situated for day trips out, we went to morrocco, the local tour company picked us up and dropped us back at the bottom of the road (5 min from villa), we went to gibralter and estaponea port and the teenagers went to the local water park, we would definatley book this villa again ps you don`t need to book and pay for a suitcase on the plane, the villa has a very efficeint washing machine with a quickwash and the clothes come out nearly dry, so you don`t need to take to many clothes. Many thanks to Bill & Kathryn for letting us use the villa
