A short walk (or a nice 10 minute jog for the more active) takes you to one of Spain's hidden jewels - Frigiliana. An absolutely beautiful town with many high quality restaurants, bars and a weekly market. There are also a good number of quaint and interesting shops to browse in as you walk along the wonderfully maintained cobbled streets.
A short car journey also takes you to nearby Nerja with all its charm, sights, restaurants shops etc.
We will be back.

Ian,
I don't usually do this, but as I feel this was an exceptional holiday, I felt I had to write to you to express my gratitude. I would firstly like to thank you for allowing me to rent 'Las Lomas'. The house was beautiful and modern, and both myself and my friend, felt extremely safe and happy to be staying in it. This holiday was the first time I was to be going away without my late husband, and obviously I was very nervous, but as soon as I arrived I realised I needn't have been for reasons I stated above. Thank you very much for putting so much thought into all the aspects of the villa, I would definitely come back again and recommend it to my friends, who I'm sure would agree on how great it is.
Sincerely
Rosalyn Denton

Dear Ian,
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the fantastic holiday, in Las Lomas. As soon as my family and I stepped into the villa we felt at home, every part of the villa was beautifully appointed, clean and tidy, we couldn't ask for more. As well as this, the views were amazing from every angle; we couldn't get the kids out of the pool, even for a barbeque! The restaurants in the village were a great alternative, and on a couple of occasion we spent the evening relaxing in the village of Nerja itself.
Kind regards
Stephanie Cohen and Family.

Subject: our stay in las lomas

A wonderful week in las lomas. The villa catered for all our needs. The setting with sea view from the terrace and pool area  was so peaceful we sat out late into the evening. Frigiliana  village can be seen in the distance from the front of the villa and offers a good choice of restaurants. We look forward to returning hopefully for 2 weeks next time.

Location description from owner

The Andalucia region

A gentle climate year round with daytime temperatures typically ranging from 15c to 32c. Lots of sun and not enough rain !
The Costa del Sol "Sunny Coast" or more literally, "Coast of the Sun" is a region in the south of Spain, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, comprising the coastal towns and communities along the Mediterranean coastline of the Province of Málaga.
The Costa del Sol extends from the cliffs at Maro in the East to Punto Chullera in the west

Frigiliana

Nerja was once a pueblo where the locals eaked out a living from agriculture and fishing, the village has grown into a smallish town of some 18,000 people but still retains much of its charm and appeal of days gone by. Locally there are attractions ranging from local beaches, watersports, tennis, golf, horseriding while the Caves of Nerja (Cuevas de Nerja) are 10 minutes away - and within a couple of hours you'll be in the heart of major historic cities such as Granada, Seville & Cordoba. International shopping is possible 45 minutes away in Malaga. Just up the road from the villa is Frigiliana, a jewel of a white washed Andalucian village where you can stroll in the evening and still hear the noises of 500 years ago. it was here that the Arabs made one of their last stands against the conquering Catholic armies.

“So excellent I'd like to go back!!”

Stayed here with my partner and two friends in may. It's the first holiday I've spent in a villa and thanks to this villa it certainly won't be my last. Upon arrival at 11pm it was clean, tidy and airy. There was basics like milk, bread, cheese and wine etc left for our arrival (not sure if this is always the case but a fantastic touch) the villa was safe and secure and so simple to find with the owners instruction pack he emailed to us. We spent a lot of our time around the pool enjoying bbq's and relaxing nights on the terrace. This villa is like home from home as one evening we couldn't be bothered to do anything so just put a DVD on with a bottle of wine. Oscar is the man that looks after the property on behalf of the owner and all I can say about him is what a star, he got us taxi's and advised us on where to go and was always a phone call or txt away. It takes 5 mins in the car to nerja or €10 in a taxi. The views from the villa are stunning and I've never had such a relaxing holiday before. I only hope that the next villa I book has an owner like Ian!!! Michael Jones

“Home from home with the bonus of a pool and the sun!”

Reviewed 20 Aug 2012

Until recently, we have always opted for long haul holidays in 5* all inclusive hotels. However, this year we decided that far away shores in August would be a little too warm for our 2 year old son. We carefully searched the internet for a villa in Spain which would give us a peaceful location, but with amenities close by. The drive from the airport was very easy, a straight run. Casa Las Lomas seemed perfect on paper and we weren’t disappointed when we arrived! As advised by Ian the owner, Oscar the property manager was there to greet us on arrival. Oscar was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and he was more than happy to advise us of places to visit/eat etc... The villa itself is superb. Pretty location, very secure, clean, well furnished and spacious with a lovely large patio area and pool. The pool was cleaned every 3 days and Oscars staff came to exchange bed linen and towels after the first week. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The views from both the front and the rear of the villa are lovely and sunset can be beautiful. We spent most evenings and meal times out on the balcony overlooking the pool with the valley/sea in view. Nerja was a 5 minute drive passing a lidl supermarket on the way (the easiest of the supermarkets to get to). Frigiliana is also approx 5 minutes in the opposite direction by car, a lovely quaint village with a selection of cafes/restaurants/market. The caves in Nerja again are only a short distance and well worth a visit. Overall, this was a completely different holiday for us, but one which was totally relaxing. Would we return / recommend to friends?.....yes.
